9. 気持ち (Feelings)

Light tried not to cry out in triumph as he heard the results. He just knew that he was going to win. It had been hard during the match, when he'd been debating whether or not to let L win. In the end, his desire to be with Jae won over. He panted softly, holding his knees. He dropped his tennis racket before turning his brown orbs over to Jaehyung. 

The male seemed slightly startled by the outcome. Light couldn't believe that L had stolen Jaehyung away. He was delighted to have won. Finally, they would both be alone. Did he forget that he told him that he knew Matsuda's full name? It appeared he would have to remind Jae of his position, and who he belonged to.

He smirked at Jae. He watched as his hands clenched into tight fists. Light's enthusiasm and happiness were short-lived as he noticed L going over to Jaehyung before Light himself could get there. It proved difficult to keep his emotions in check as he watched L's arm snake around the male's waist.

Jae visibly relaxed at L's touch, which made his blood boil.

Someone's jealous. Maybe you should just get it over with and kill this boyfriend of hers. Ryuk chuckled. He loved to tease both Light and Jaehyung. Light gritted his teeth at the shinigami's teasing. He shook his head, trying to clear his mind as he focused back on L and Jae as they made their way over. Jaehyung was acting slightly awkward, constantly shifting about whilst L held him. Every now and again, he wondered if these two really were dating. Jae sometimes reacted tense and uncomfortable whenever L held him close or gave him any sort of affection.

He found himself craving to be in L's place. He wanted to hold Jaehyung close. He wanted to kiss his cheek, touch him all over. . . Jaehyung probably didn't know, but Light's feelings had developed before Jae told him that he suspected he was Kira. He'd wanted him for so long but surprisingly, he didn't have the courage due to the fact that Jaehyung had been the first ever guy that he'd actually developed feelings for.

L chuckled. "I know I said that I'd agree to the deal. . . But unfortunately, that is actually impossible." L mumbled. Light's eye twitched as he watched L's fingers intertwine with Jaehyung's. Light tilted his head. Why?! He agreed to the deal before their match. Why would he not allow him? He wanted Jae! He wanted to grab him right now, tell him whose he was. But he had to hold himself back. He couldn't reveal himself for such a petty desire.

"I thought we made a deal." He stated simply whilst he slipped his hands into his pockets.

L glanced over at Jaehyung for a second and their eyes locked. It was like he was telling him something with his eyes. He gave him a barely noticeable nod. L turned his attention back to Light.

"Jaehyung is not my property. He's his own person. I did agree, yes. However, Jaehyung here will decide whether or not he wants to be alone with you. What do you think?" L murmured, nuzzling Jaehyung's neck as he queried the male.

Jae jolted, his (s/c) cheeks slowly growing with colour at the contact. He shook his head. "I don't want to be alone with him. I'd rather have you at my side." Light gritted his teeth whilst his hands clenched inside his pockets. This bastard. . . Was really fucking sneaky.

(M/n)'s POV

(M/n) felt uneasy. He was sitting opposite Light in a café booth, with L at his side. He wanted to leave, and he was just about to when L grabbed his wrist tightly and dragged him along to the café. He gripped his shirt tightly as he tried to keep his attention entirely on his lap. He was listening in on the conversation between the two men before him.

He wanted to punch L in the face right now! Why the hell did he have to be here?! He had no purpose sitting here, listening. He could've gone home to try and relax but no, he was here instead, having to listen to this utterly boring talk. He was beginning to get frustrated. Irritated. Light was a smart-ass and (M/n) knew that very well. He'd find a way to dissipate the suspicions that L had that he was Kira.
