65|HOOK AND RUMPELSTILTSKIN

When Celeste knew Archie was safe, she re-entered the room, rummaging around to find anything useful. She found a box and pulled it out the shelf, unlocking it with a key nearby.

"Looking for this?" Hook started her, standing in the doorway with Rumpels sons cloak in his hand.

"That doesn't belong to you." Celeste sighed, wishing she could be dealing with anyone else.

"Oh, it does, now." He grinned at her, a strange stillness coming over them on the rocky ship.

Celeste dived for her dagger, Hook beating her to it and dangling it before her eyes.

"My dear Celeste, you should have stayed with your books." Hook mocked her, admiring the intricate design on the blade. "Real life can get so messy." He trailed the dagger down her jaw and throat, eyeing off her low cut blouse.

"Oi, eyes up." Celeste warned him before grabbing the blade, blood trickling down her palm. "I'm not afraid of you and I want the cloak back."

"I admire your loyalty. But helping Rumpelstiltskin?" He said mockingly, a hint of shock in his eyes as he watched her grip tighten. "I'm afraid you're fighting a lost cause."

"He needs that shawl to find his son and I need him." She pulled the blade away from her throat.

"And what makes you think his son wants to be found?" Hook pulled the dagger away from her, her grip loosening and falling to her side. "Hmm? I'm doing that boy a favour."

"Have you not hurt Rumpel enough?" She sighed.

"I've hurt him?" He lifted his hooked hand.

"You stole his wife! I mean, I'm thankful, but that's still a dick move." She squeezed her hand, the throbbing and pain starting to get to her.

"Tell me something, love. If a woman comes to you and begs you to take her away, is that theft?" Hook slowly approached her, lips inches away from hers.

"Why would she leave him?" Her curiosity took over as she pushed him back with her good hand, crossing her arms as she raised a brow.

"Because he was a coward." He said seriously. "And because she loved me. I should have burned this the moment I acquired it."

"Yet you didn't?"

"Because she made it." Hook sighed and moved to grab the cloak with sad eyes.

"I'm sorry she died, I honestly am. But vengeance won't bring her back." Celeste tried to reason with him.

"Died?" He chuckled at her word choice. "Like it was some kind of accident. Is that what he told you?"

"Oh, right, killed." She rolled her blue eyes. "Murdered. Life torn away too soon."

"He killed her." He voice was dangerously low. "He ripped out her heart and he crushed it right in front of me."

"And now he is married to me. Oh no, her death meant I found my true love." She said sarcastically. "Oh, it's so sad to me."

"Enough!" Hook yelled in her face before pacing around the room. "You really married that crocodile?"

"And I love every inch of him." Celeste smirked and reached up, grabbing an oar tied to the roof and swinging it into his head, knocking him backwards and into the pit Archie was held. "And that's how it's done."

She ran, cloak in hand, to the stairs off the ship but Hook beat her to it, jumping in front of her and blocking the exit.

"Seriously?"

"Oh, I know this ship like the back of my, well, you know." Hook chuckled at his own joke. "I suggest you give that back to me now."

"Or what?" Rumpelstiltskin announced his appearance, a grin spreading across Celeste's lips.

"You look different in this world, crocodile." Hook turned around to greet the man. "Like the coward I met so long ago. Limp and all."

"And yet, you still can't kill me." Rumpel mocked the pirate. Celeste slowly backed away from them.

"Let's have it, Dark One." The pirate offered. "What magic are you going to hide behind today?"

"Oh, no, not magic." He raised his cane and smashed it into Hooks face. He repeatedly hit the pirate till he was weak and bloody.

"As sexy as you are when dangerous, let's go." Celeste called out to her husband, sighing when she saw he was going to ignore her.

"Not yet."

"Yes yet." She grabbed the cane with her throbbing hand, wincing in pain as the healing cut opened. "Let's go."

"You're wasting your breath, love." Hook laughed in pain, his face bruised and bleeding. "He can't resist. He has to prove that he's not a coward."

"You might want to turn away, Celeste." He warned her, trying to pull the cane out her strong grip. "This isn't going to be pretty."

"I don't care." She stood between the two enemies. "He doesn't deserve to die, nobody does. If he deserves to die, then so do you and so do I. So let's go home."

"Celeste."

"I'm not going to move." Her eyes glanced over her shoulder, a look of disgust on her face as she looked at the bloody pirate Captain. "He really isn't worth your time or breath. And being this sad over an ex wife really does hurt my feelings. There's good in you, show me the man I fell in love for."

"You take your little ship and sail until you fall off the edge of the world." Rumpel threatened Hook, pulling his cane back as Celeste clutched her hand in pain. "I never want to see you again."

"Let's go." Celeste helped him off the ship, eyeing off the cane as he avoided her eyes. "Can you spank me with that some time?"

"If you want, love."
