32|DREAMS VS. REALITY

"I'm trying to sleep." She moaned as she felt his lips attacking her neck. His hands snaked under her shirt she stole from him, stroking her smooth skin as his fingers trailed up her body. Her eyes opened, blessing him with her ocean blue eyes. He got lost in the waves of her iris's before his mouth was on hers.

"I want you so badly." He groaned into her ear, pushing the thin fabric up her body and over her shoulders.

"Again?" She grinned teasingly, stroking her fingers through his long hair. Her breath got stuck in her throat as she felt the pressure build. "Rumpel."

"Celeste, fuck." He gently collapsed on top of her, breathing heavily as he pushed the hair off her sweaty forehead.

"Oh shit." Bella sat up quickly in bed, glancing over to see if Ruby was still there. She sighed with relief when she saw the brunette was gone. She leaned back against the headboard as she thought about the strange dream she had. He had green scaly skin and longer hair that had been slicked back. "Celeste? That's what he called me back when Emma started living here."

"Bells? You okay?" Ruby entered the room, raising a brow at the spaced out girl.

"Hmm, yeah, sorry." She smiled, standing up to get ready for work. "Just a strange dream."

"About someone?" The waitress teased, leaning her hip against the door frame as she stared the blushing woman down. "I heard some moans coming from your room, I thought you might have snuck someone in."

"I need to get ready for work." Bella waved her off with a laugh, grabbing her comfy clothes and getting dressed. She grabbed her handbag and followed Ruby into the main room. "I'll see you all later tonight."

"Have fun at work." Mary Margaret smiled at her as she grabbed a breakfast muffin and walked out the apartment.

"Morning Richards, you're with me today." Dr. Whale greeted the woman as she signed in at the reception, fixing her coat.

"Yay?" Bella joked, grabbing her notepad and following the taller man. Her eyes widened when she spotted a familiar man sat on a medical bed with Emma.

"You want this or should I?" He asked her quietly as they stopped outside the glass room.

"You." She replied, still annoyed at the patient for his behaviour towards her first friend in Storybrooke.

"Well, he's bruised, scratched up, a little dehydrated, what did you expect?" Dr. Whale informed the Sheriff.

"He's got a cut on his head." Emma stated while glancing at Bella who had stayed quiet the entire time.

"Its superficial." He said professional. "I can refer him to Dr. Hopper for a mental health eval, but it's my opinion that whatever caused this blackout is the same phenomenon we observed when he came out of his coma. Moving around, acting out, not remembering it later."

"We will figure it out." The blonde woman directed her attention to David.

"It's so strange." David sighed with annoyance. "I can't even believe it happened."

"How functional could he be during one of these episodes?" She asked the two doctors. "I mean, he talked to someone."

"People in similar states, even under sleep medication, do all sorts of things." Bella spoke up, using her professional tone as she reminded herself that he was still a patient. "Cooking, talking, driving a car."

"You want to know if I could've made that call." David mumbled to Emma as he put the pieces together. "Or more. You want to know if I could've, what, kidnapped her? Killed her?"

"Take it easy, there." Dr. Whale said calmly, not wanting the patient to get too overwhelmed.

"No one's saying you did anything bad, David." Emma said with a small head shake. Bella looked up when she spotted the mayor walking quickly towards them.

"No, but it would explain why it didn't seem like I was lying." He started to believe this theory. "I wouldn't know."

"Stop talking, David." Regina stated, stopping in front of the patient and beside Bella who greeted the Mayor with a friendly smile. "What are you doing here? Why doesn't this man have a lawyer present? Have you even read him his rights?"

"No. Because he's not under arrest. We're just talking." Emma said defensively to the woman.

"Right. Just talking." The mayor spat at her.

"What are you doing here?"

"Mayor Mills is still Mr. Nolan's emergency contact." Bella answered for her, flinching when Emma gave her a look.

"You have to be kidding me."

"I thought that changed to Kathryn?" David questioned aloud, looking over to his emergency contact.

"Well, Kathryn is currently unavailable." Regina reminded him harshly. "Some people haven't found her yet. Stop trying to place blame and just find her."

"There is a whole lot of Maine to search, Regina." Emma growled back causing Bella to bite her bottom lip anxiously.

"May I step out for a second?" Bella whispered to Dr. Whale who gave her a brief nod and watched as she left the room. She stood in her office, biting her nails as she nervously pressed the contact number and held the phone to her ear.

'Hello?' She smiled to herself when she heard his voice, his thick accent giving her butterflies.

"Hi, I'm sorry for randomly calling I've just been stressed lately and wanted to hear your voice." Bella giggled, playing with the ends of her hair as they spoke.

'What time do you finish work? I can pick you up and make you dinner at mine, love.' A large grin overtook her face when she realised he was wanting to have a date night.

"I would love that! I finish at seven." He ended the call with a "I'll see you at seven" before they hung up, the words of love on the tip of her lips. Bella quickly dropped the girls a message saying she won't be coming home tonight and asked if Ruby could drop her off an overnight bag. Which was a big mistake.
