74|BEING A GRANDMOTHER
Celeste wandered into the apartment, trying to hide the grin from her lips as a dark atmosphere surrounded the home.
"Morning. How is she?" She questioned as she wandered over to Emma and Henry sat at the counter.
"David is trying to get her to eat." Emma answered with a sigh, watching as she sat down at the dining table, wincing in pain. "Are you okay?"
"Just some re-acquaintance after being cursed again." Celeste winked at the blonde while Henry stared at her confused. "Some adult fun."
"You can stop now." She pushed her bowl of cereal away with disgust as David walked back into the kitchen. "Anything?"
"She won't eat a bite." He sighed and put the full bowl down. They all glanced at the quiet woman lying in bed.
"What's wrong with her?" Henry asked innocently, worried about his grandmother.
"Nothing. She's just a little sick." Emma lied to him. The three adults looked between each other, trying to figure out what to say.
"You guys are lying to me, aren't you?" He looked at them all accusingly causing Celeste to raise her hands jokingly to show she was innocent.
"No one's lying."
"You are. Just like you did about my dad." Henry stated, staring his mother dead in her eyes.
"He's right. No more lying." Emma said with a sigh while Charming tried to object. "He deserves to know. Here's the thing, Henry. Cora's death, Mary Margaret was partially responsible for it. And that's why she's so upset."
"No. No, she couldn't." He refused to believe her but was cut off by a loud knock on the door.
"She was trying to protect us." His mother continued to reason with him while Charming walked over to the door.
"But she's Snow White. She wouldn't hurt anybody." Henry shook his head with disbelief.
"Get out." Charming said as he opened the door, everyone turning to find Rumpel in the doorway.
"I think you're gonna want to hear what I have to say." Rumpel rushed out before Charming tried to use force. "For her sake."
"What are you talking about?" Emma wandered over to her father, Celeste and Henry behind.
"Regina. She's planning to strike back against your mother." He replied, glancing at Celeste and wondering why she had not said anything.
"What is she gonna do to her?" Henry stepped forwards.
"Well, she didn't say."
"No. You don't get to come in here and just drop a bomb like that." Charming snapped at him. "You're gonna figure this out. And you're gonna help us."
"And why should I?"
"Because, aside from us being family now, Mary Margaret saved your life." He threatened the man. "Now you owe her a debt. And you always pay your debts, don't you? You're gonna help us stop Regina."
"But no one is allowed to harm her in anyway." Celeste warned them, crossing her arms over her chest as she stared them all down. "Rumpel may be in debt to Snow but he will always listen to me before you."
"That is true." Rumpel reluctantly agreed with his wife, knowing she would always have the final say as one look was powerful enough to make him do anything.
After the two men left, Celeste stared down at Henry with pursed lips, contemplating if this would be a good time to ask.
"Henry, seeing as how I'm your grandmother. Does that mean I can spoil you?" She questioned, smirking when she saw the horrified look in Emma's eyes. "Because I was thinking you and I can go get cake and hot chocolates from Granny's while we wait for your granddad's."
"Can I?" Henry looked at his mother eagerly who reluctantly nodded her reply.
"So do you want chocolate cake or red velvet?" Celeste grinned down at him as they wandered down the stairs together.
"Chocolate." He grinned happily as she smiled at him. "Are you going to have red velvet?"
"You know me too well." She chuckled and opened the door for him to enter the small diner.
"Cel! How's Snow?" Red asked as the pair walked up to the counter, sliding on to the seats.
"Not good." Celeste sighed before remembering Henry was with her. "Can we have two hot chocolates, a slice of chocolate cake and a slice of red velvet?"
"Of course." She turned away to get their order as the pair talked about random things.
"What's it like being a grandmother and looking young?" Henry asked her as the cake was placed in front of them, Red interest in hearing her answer.
"I wish I could walk around the modern world and tell everyone." She laughed and patted his head. "But it doesn't change anything, I've always treated you like family. I have memories from my cursed state of you coming in to the hospital with some injury and Regina being a very worried mother."
