We see Clint Barton's house and Bucky was inside it watching television. It showed that the government had appointed a new Captain America. Bucky leans towards the television in great interest. Then Laura (Clint's wife) enters the living room.
Laura - "Hey uh, do you want anything? Coffee, tea?"
Bucky - "Um no thanks."
Laura - "Do you know what he's doing?"
Bucky looks outside the house through the window and sees Sam holding Cap's shield in the yard. He felt a little worried.
Bucky - "I'll go and see."
Laura nods and leaves. Bucky gets up, walks out of the house and meets Sam. Sam was practicing with the shield as he flings it to a tree, but it doesn't glide as smoothly and it gets stuck. Sam sighs and slowly walks towards it.
Bucky - "Hey Sam."
Sam - "What is it?"
Sam struggles to take out the shield from the tree. Bucky approaches him.
Sam - "Nah. I don't need your help."
Sam's veins are shown to be superficial as he finally gets the shield out. He pants heavily as he was exhausted.
Bucky - "What's troubling you?"
Sam - "Woah, when did you become all nice?"
Bucky - "I always was. Just not with you."
Sam - "Cheeky."
Bucky - "What is it Sam?"
Sam sighs. He carefully observes the shield.
Sam - "The legacy of this shield is...complicated."
Bucky - "Hmm."
Sam - "Thing is...I don't know--"
Bucky - "Don't know what?"
Sam - "I don't know if I'm worthy of this."
Bucky chuckles.
Sam - "That was such a hilarious statement now wasn't it?"
Bucky - "Sam. Steve trusted you with this."
Sam - "I know. What if he's wrong?"
Bucky - "What makes you say that?"
Sam - "I don't know, I don't feel good enough."
Bucky - "You're a good man Sam; and Steve...I, know that you'll do your best. That's why it's yours."
Sam looks at Bucky understandingly.
Sam - "You're a dick for the most part. But this one time, I excuse you."
Bucky smiles.
Bucky - "I don't need your excuse."
The two men, now good friends, shake hands confidently.
