"But I don't do that anymore", Neil retaliated. He took his shirt off. The heat didn't pass away.
Andrew pulled him back in, driving his hands down Neil's spine making his skin crawl.
"I know", Andrew retorted, his voice was low and soft. Neil loved it.
The evening continued bright and filled with atmosphere. The Foxes met at the main building for dinner. The four-story-house was just as harmonically decorated as the bungalows around it. White and blue covered the most part of the colors. The wooden door was painted in a light blue just as the metal fence, which reached as high as ones shoulder, well, for Neil's shoulder that is.
Again trees covered some space in and around it. They stood tall and the small playground in front of it added to a family-friendly atmosphere. A swing was dangling from a scaffold, next to it was a small climbing tower with a blue colored slide.
A stone path led to the entrance doors.
The group made their way to the dining hall, where two families and a couple were already eating delicate looking starters and main courses.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to have your names please, so I can get your tables", A woman in her mid-twenties stood at the counter in front of the door-bow to the hall. Her brunette hair were neatly kept in a bun on top of her head.
The woman wore clothing matching the colors of the housing estates."Oh", Allison made as she got it and pressed through the bodys in front of her, "It's Reynolds"
The employee was enlightened by the statement and turned to the list on the desk in front of her, "Great, follow me".
The woman put up a smile and led the way. She brought them to a table, which could seat twelve people.
A white tablecloth had been laid over the surface. Cutlery and glasses had been placed on top."Ms. Brandon will be with you in a minute. Have a nice evening", the woman said and turned her back on the Foxes.
Neil was tucked in between Matt and Nicky after they took their seats.
Andrew sat across from him next to Renee and Kevin, then Allison and next to Matt was Dan. Aaron and Katelyn sat at the corner side of the table."Something different than Exy, huh?", Renee said her gaze following to Kevin.
"It is so beautiful here, the sight is breathtaking!", Dan cheered, looking at Matt with a smile adorning her lips. Renee didn't need long to check into the topic.
"It is" Renee agreed. "The beach is beautiful too, good for me that I packed my swimsuit", she added. Allison nodded in approval.
"Wait... do you even have swim trunks?", Matt asked in Neil's direction. His brows furrowed as he thought about it.
"When would I have gone swimming?", Neil counterclaimed. He hadn't gone for a swim in forever, but that was probably because he was slightly distracted with staying alive and hiding his scars.
"True", Matt responded and tapped a finger to his chin in a thoughtful gesture. "We can change that, you know why?"
"Why", Neil answered matter of factly. He knew where this conversation went, but he talked without thinking about it for long.
"'Cause we're going to get you a pair" Matt waited for a respond on that.
Neil swallowed the dry feeling in his throat with a swig of his soda."I don't think so", Neil said dryly. He eyed Matt from the corner of his eye and took another sip.
"Why? We're at the beach", he said that as if it were the answer to everything. But he didn't know too much about his mother. Matt didn't know, no-one knew, maybe Andrew or Kevin, but the rest?
