A Never Ending Emotional Rollecoasters

I woke up to Alexa playing "I see you shining" by Nines. My hand had touched the phone and started Spotify. I wasn't mad though that song was a mood setter especially with the sun shining into my room. I checked my watch for the time and the hour marker was near 10am. Kaiju, his wiggling tail and tippy taps on the beige tile floor came to greet me after being notified by the music that I was awake.
"Hello youu!" I said reaching for him and dragging him up to bed.
"How's my pretty boy" I rubbed him as he relaxed playfully on his back putting all of his four paws in the air. My phone buzzed and I turned reaching for it from under my pillow.

09:56am- "Hey! I might be able to meet earlier if you want. I have some news."
I turned down the music to focus, typical old-grandma style. Before I get a chance to reply to Ludwig my phone buzzes again.

09:56am-"Morning! I hope you've slept well gorgeous. I was hoping i could see you today after you've rested and all that. I miss you"
I blushed and screamed out loud intensely like a little girl startling Kaiju making him jump to the side.
"No no no, sorry sorry sorry" I said laughing at him apologetically throwing my hands towards him. I picked up his paws and started dancing sillily with him. I let go and held my fists close to my face covering my mouth in disbelief looking at Kaiju staring judgmentally at me with his look probably thinking I'm strange. I came out of my blushing moment and looked at my phone to type.

09:59am- "Good morning love" dared I really call her love? I mean she called me that that one time. I deleted it, only to retype it again thinking I wouldn't dwell on the obvious. "Yes, you have the permission to see me, but as I'm a very busy woman who has a lot of friends waiting in line it will have to be later. You can call my secretary to book your appointment" I sent it laughing thinking I was being very funny.

10:10am-"And who might your secretary be? Joel? Lol"
She replied quickly. She was being sarcastic hence the lol and I responded back.

10:10am-"ha-ha see you around 6?"

10:10am-"I can't wait" I sent.
I switched to Ludwig's chat and said I'd be ready to meet him at a cafe in Östermalm and sent him the address. He sent me a thumbs up and I got out of bed to get ready. I got ready quickly choosing to wear something casual thinking I'd have time to change before meeting Sam much later. I kissed Kaiju goodbye and hurried out of my apartment leaving a short note on Marie-Ann's door hoping she'd check on Kaiju if I was late, even though she always did without my notice.

I parked my car in the street after 15 minutes of looking for a parking spot and was met by Ludwig while I was closing my car door.
"Christ it's easier to win the lottery than to find a parking spot here" I exclaimed looking at Ludwig.
"Yeah that's why I take the subway" He replied waving his public transportation card. The sun was shining brightly in his green eyes and making his short brown typical lawyer haircut shine. His navy blue suit made him look even more like a lawyer but I for once was wearing a leather skirt and a white crop top. The weather had been so nice these past few days and it was going to be like this next week too, perfect for light clothes. We walked a few meters to the cafe and sat down ordering a black coffee and a green tea, obviously the tea wasn't for me.
"How was your week?" He asked me wanting to chitchat before we got into what we were really here for. I was eager to know what news he had were and really didn't want to drag the small talk.
"Good, long week, lots of work, you know how it is, you said you had some news?" I said clasping my hands together looking at him seriously.
"Wow you're diving right into it, okay I get it, my week was the same thanks for asking" He said smiling while pulling out a file from his briefcase with a few papers and a paper clip holding them together and placed it on the table.
"So, my guy found Leonora, she's in the Canary Islands." He said sliding me a larger picture of her talking on the phone and wearing glasses while standing in a sunny parking lot in red shorts and loose white tank top, a truly terrible outfit.
"Way to make me feel like I'm hunting down and investigating someone like in the movies" I said picking up the photo.
"You are hunting down and investigating someone, Nicole" He said with a serious tone, locking eye contact with me. I swallowed down the tiny lump that was building in my throat and sipped my coffee to rid of it completely.
"Here's her phone number" He slid a yellow folded sticky note with a number written on it with red ink. "You can give her a call and ask her if she's willing to sign the divorce papers." He said and I sighed feeling the difficulty of this operation. "I don't think it's going to be a problem though" He looked at me slightly giving me hope "She apparently tried getting in contact with the court there to get a divorce with no luck. I think you might be doing her a favor" He said reassuring me that it might work out after all while handing me a paper copy of Leonora's failed divorce errand.
"Ludwig I don't know what to say, I don't want to thank you too early, but thank you" I said sincerely with a calm feeling in my stomach.
"No need to thank me Nicole, it's not like I'm doing this for free but either way you're a dear friend, I would've gone even longer if I needed to" He said to me smiling while handing me the rest of the folder.
"Now can we chitchat?" He laughed grabbing his tea to have a sip. I nodded smiling.
"Now, we can even go to the moon if you'd like" I sipped at my coffee and we started talking about everything from graduation to our parents' summer houses in Valencia, Spain. Apparently, they were neighbors there and we were neighbors here, or kind of, if you call living 1h away from each other neighbors.
