florence pov

I had just left the library where Harry, Hermione and I, were once again trying to find a way to battle a dragon and failing.

"Floflo!" Cedric called out. He ran down the hallway to catch up to me.

"Hey Cece." I smiled.

"Wanna hang out?"

I nudged his arm. "Obviously."

I felt an arm wrap around Cedric and I's shoulders as a boy came up behind us. I didn't recognise him, but Cedric did.

"So 'Cece', when are you going to introduce me to your pretty little friend over here?" The tall blonde boy asked.

"Florence, this is Jack. Ignore him. He's an idiot."

The boy stuck his hand out. "Jackson Fields, but you can call me Jack."

I shook his hand and introduced myself. "Florence Bailey, but you can call me Flo."

"Ah, I finally get to meet the girl who's stealing all my best friend's attention." Jack joked.

"I'm sorry Jack. I guess I just can't help it." I joked, as I flicked my hair.

Cedric's eyes caught mine for a moment. Both of us didn't look away. Everything seemed to slow around us.

Cedric coughed awkwardly as he looked away.

I took a deep breath. Did that really just happen?

Jack raised his eyebrows at me as I felt myself blush violently.

Cedric rolled his eyes at Jack and shoved him off of us. My eyes were drawn to a bright swirly badge on Jack's shirt.

"Hey, I told you to stop wearing those." Cedric said, as he took it off him.

Jack snatched it out his hand and pinned it onto Cedric's shirt as we walked towards the courtyard. The badge said "Cedric rules" and would switch to "Potter stinks."

It's horrible. Harry doesn't deserve that.

"Who made those?" I asked, frowning.

Jack shrugged. "No idea, probably just some Hufflepuff."

"And here I was thinking you were all nice."

"Not us all darlin." He winked playfully.

"Well I don't like it." I snapped defensively. "Harry didn't cheat. He didn't put his name in the goblet! How could he?! He's not even of age!"

"Calm down feisty!" Jack laughed.

I crossed my arms and huffed. Why would no one listen?

The three of us entered the courtyard and stood talking to a few more of Cedric's friends for a while. They were nice, I had to admit. But they weren't as nice as Cedric.

They just seem to always talk about other people, and not always in a nice way. I was about to leave when Harry appeared in the courtyard and walked over to us.

"Can I have a word?" He asked Cedric and I.

"Alright." Cedric said, as we both got up.

"Potter stinks!" Jack called out.

I stuck out my middle finger from behind as we followed after Harry.

We stopped behind some bushes in the courtyard.

"Dragons. That's the first task." Harry told him. "They've got one for each of us."

Cedric looked shaken up. Just as Harry and I reacted when we found out about the dragons.
