Ariella's POV:
As Laurie slept, Hayley, Cayley and I were gathered in the lounge, talking about the recent events.
"Honestly, I can understand why she did that," Cayley said, leaning back onto the couch.
We all nodded. I knew that I myself would've done that if Harry or any of the boys were in danger.
"Yeah, I mean the girls have helped her so much.. Remember what she said to Dr Lewis? "It's the least I could do after all she's done for me. I'd do it for any of the other girls." ? They really have helped her so much.." Hayley spoke up, running her hands through her hair. We all nodded in agreement.
We all turned as the door creaked open.
"Is Laurie here?" Maya asked, popping her head in. We shook our heads.
"She's in our room resting. Why?" I replied.
"She has some visitors. How about you bring them to your room?" She replied, a smile dancing on her lips.
We nodded our heads and stood up. She opened the door to reveal Fifth Harmony.
WAIT, FIFTH HARMONY?!
Dinah's POV:
After we all changed out, we climbed into the car and Big Rob drove us to the orphanage. We arrived in less tham 15 minutes.
We went in and walked over to the reception. We saw Maya sitting there and I thought back to when we found out Laurie was an orphan..
*flashback*
The atmosphere was tense as we waited for the doctors to come out. 3 girls and one lady came running into the waiting room.
I recognised the girls as Laurie's friends who went to the M&G yesterday with her. Are they her sisters? I wondered.
"Oh my God, is Laurie okay?" The lady asked us worriedly, once she spotted us. We shrugged, avoiding any eye contact. She plopped down into an empty chair and put her head in her hands.
"Are you her mum?" Ally questioned and the lady shook her head.
"I'm Maya. I work at the orphanage Laurie stays at." She replied.
"Orphanage? She's an orphan?" Normani asked, shocked. Maya nodded.
"These girls-" she gestured to the 3 girls I assumed were Laurie's sisters, "are Laurie's best friends. They too are orphans."
"I'm Ariella, I'm 13 this year. I've known Laurie since we were 10," The girl with blonde hair introduced herself, hands clasped together as she sat next to Maya.
"I'm Cayley and I'm 10. I've known Ariella and Laurie since I was 8," The girl with auburn hair said shyly, sitting on an empty chair.
The last girl who looked like an exact copy of Cayley sat next to her and spoke up. "I'm Hayley and I'm 10. Cayley's my twin and yeah we've all known each other since I was 8."
We all nodded our heads and our hearts went out to these girls. How did they end up like this? Family is so important.. I don't know what I would do if I lost my family.. And at such a young age too.
Just then, Big Rob walked to Ally and whispered into her ear. Her lips become a thin line and she pursed them in a disapproving manner.
"Guys, we gotta go," Ally announced, disappointment evident in her voice.
We all started to rebuke her but she held up her hand, silencing us.
"I'm sorry girls. As much as I want to know how Laurie is, Simon wants to see us," Ally said firmly. After sharing a few dejected looks with each other, we sighed and prepared to leave.
I took one last look at the closed doors of the emergency room before Camila pulled me to the exit.
*end of flashback*
A light slap on my cheek snapped me out of my daydream.
"Huh? What happened?" I asked, looking around confused.
"You zoned out. It was creepy," Camila replied, shrugging.
"C'mon, Maya's bringing us to Laurie." Ally said as she, Lauren and Normani walked away with Maya. We hurried to catch up with them.
On the second floor, Maya opened the door a little bit before pushing it wide open. There stood the 3 girls we met at the hospital but no sign of Laurie.
"They're gonna bring you to their room where they say Laurie's at. I'll leave them to it, come down once you're ready so you can sign the adoption papers." We nodded in response and followed the girls.
We came to a stop and Ariella slowly pushed open the door.
"Hey Ariella!" A cheerful voice exclaimed.
"Hey you ass. There's some visitors here to see you," Ariella said, a smile evident in her voice. She pushed opened the door wider to reveal Laurie sitting on the bed with a book open on her lap. When she saw us, her eyes widened and she hurriedly shut the book and slid it under her pillow.
"Hey.. What.. what are you guys.. doing here?" Laurie stammered, her eyes wide.
"We wanted to talk to you," Normani replied gently.
"Is it about the concert?? I'm so sorry if I ruined it! I just.. I just wanted to save Lauren.." Laurie trailed off, twiddling her thumbs.
"Laurie, why would you think that we felt that way?? You literally saved my life!" Lauren exclaimed incredulously. Laurie shrugged silently, looking down at her hands.
Lauren's POV:
How could Laurie think that we'd be mad? She saved my life, for Pete's sake! I could've died!
I sat myself in front of Laurie and grasped her hands in my own.
"Laurie, sweetheart, how can I blame you? You saved my life! You didn't ruin the concert– you were the hero of the concert if anything. So, please erase that thought out of your head because you didn't ruin the concert, alright?" I told her, smiling at her gently.
She looked up at me, her eyes brimming with tears. I gently wiped off a stray tear with the pad of my thumb. I pulled her into my embrace and as she choked back sobs.
"Thank.. thank you." She whispered.
"No problem honey," I whispered back, gently kissing the top her head.
