Chapter 11

Laurie's POV:

I was packing my suitcase while listening to some Japanese songs.

"beat in angel, tanoshiku na are sonobakagiri demo, maji?! angel watashi no hari taku taku shinai," I hummed along softly. soon I had everything packed and I fell on my bed with a contented sigh. we were leaving for L.A. tomorrow and yes I'm excited at the prospect of moving but Miami has been my home for so long.. am I ready to leave it yet? I sighed as I faced the wall of my room. I felt tears well up in my eyes. Miami.. the place that holds so so so many memories.. i wiped away the tears that started falling. I refuse to cry over this. I should feel blessed that the girls - especially Mami and Mama - were kind and generous enough to take care of me and love me. at least I can leave the haunting past of my parents.

"LAURIE WE'RE GOING FOR DINNER WITH THE CABELLOS!!!" I heard Mama yell. the prospect of meeting Camila's family, especially the forever adorable Sofi, made my heart lighten. I walked over to my suitcase, quickly pulling out my outfit for the evening - a dreamcatcher tank top with a black skirt and black tights. I put a hair hair accessory from Lovisa in my naturally wavy hair and slipped on my mint low cut sneakers.

"Laurie?" Mami said as she opened the door and looked around. i looked up from my spot on the floor where I was putting on my shoes. I gave her a smile as I grabbed my purse and stuffed my phone and wallet inside.

"looks like you're all packed. excited for tomorrow?" Mami questions as we walk downstairs. I bit my lip and nodded, keeping my head down. I quickened my pace and I ran towards the stationary van parked at our driveway. I hopped into the back with Camila and Dinah, promptly snuggling into Dinah's side. I felt a pair of arms wrap around me and I let my eyes shut as I slowly inhaled in Dinah's scent.

Lauren's POV:

we were all in the car driving towards the restaurant that the Cabellos picked for our dinner. I turned around to see Laurie and Dinah cuddling, fast asleep. I smiled at them and chuckled lightly as Camila started snapping many pictures.

"send them to me," I said, a smile dancing on my lips. Camila nodded in response before continuing taking pictures. I thought about when I had asked Laurie about moving. she didn't seem too excited about it.. I definitely need to have a proper talk with her later on.

"Laur? earth to Lauren!!" someone said, snapping their fingers in front of my face. I jolted up and turned to face the person.

"what's wrong?" Ally worriedly asks, head tilting to the side, looking at me with concern. should I tell her? well, she does have a right to know..

"I.. I'm just worried about Laurie that's all," I sighed, squeezing my eyes shut

"what happened?" Ally questions as she grabbed my hand and started rubbing it soothingly with her thumbs.

"she seems a little.. off. like.. oh I don't know maybe it's just about the move?" I said, opening my eyes and looking straight at Ally. "I just hope that she can open up to us if she's facing any problems.." I bit my lip, as worries flooded my mind.

"hey, we should trust Laurie. she's a smart girl, she'll know when to confide in us.. and she knows we're here for her, so you should calm down a little okay?" Ally soothingly tells me, giving me a encouraging smile.

"thanks Ally," I said with a smile, before engulfing her in a hug.

"girls, we're here!" Big Rob announces as he expertly pulls into a parking lot.

Camila literally flings herself out of the car and runs towards the restaurant. I turn around to see Dinah and Laurie slowly waking up. Laurie looks at me sleepily and gives me a smile.
