I did it so Hawk didn't have to

(sorry I haven't been talking about Miguel much tbh I forgot he was Olivia's brother)

I Hopped out of bed on Monday morning, Miguel had learned to walk again and he was coming back to school today! 

"Miguel are you ready?" I yelled 

"Yes Olivia I'm coming" 

I laughed, I was a bit nervous because Demitri would be there and I'm sure he would tell Miguel that I broke his arm. I knew Miguel could never hate me but he could hate Hawk and that's why I did it. 

Miguel and I walked back to school together for the first time in a while. 

"Are you excited?" I asked Miguel

"Yes, I can't wait to see everyone how is Cobra Kai doing?"

"Oh it's doing good," I said still not telling him about the incident 

 we got to school, got through security, and when we walked in there was a huge sign that said welcome back Miguel. 

"Sup bro" Hawk came up to Miguel giving him a high-five Miguel smiled "Hey"

"Can't wait for you to come back to Cobra Kai"

"I was actually gonna talk to you about that" Miguel began but the bell rang "I'll tell you later Hawk"

Hawk took my hand and we walked to class together

  "Have you told Miguel what happened?" Hawk asked I shook my head "not yet" I couldn't tell him I didn't have the heart to "I'll tell him you did it for me" Hawk said I shook my head "Oh Hawk don't do that it's not necessary"

I knew it was only a matter of time before Miguel saw Demitri and found out have was going down while he was gone.

The next three periods went by quickly I was so nervous about lunch I had butterflies in my stomach and not the good kind. 

I saw Demitri balancing his lunch tray and he walked to his table accidentally bumping Kyler in the process.

"oh crap" Demitri mumbled 

Kyler laughed "you thought I would knock down your tray, come on man I'm better than that" Kyler tossed the lunch into the trashcan "oh you want me to sign your cast? say no more" Kyler took a sharpie and drew something on the cast Hawk nudged me and I looked away. I leaned into his chest and ate a carrot.

Mitch came to sit with us but Hawk didn't let him "oh sorry parties full"

"where am I supposed to sit," Mitch asked 

"At the rejects table" I scoffed"over there" and nodded at the table with Burt and one other dude

Hawk laughed as Mitch walked away the rest of the Cobra Kai's laughed along giving me high fives. And then my stomach dropped, Miguel stormed into the cafeteria. 

"Oh hey man" Hawk said but Miguel pushed past him staring at me 

"I heard what happened with Demitri" Miguel spat "how could you do that Olivia" 

"We can't talk about this here" I mumbled dragging him with me when we got to an empty hallway I turned to him "I did it so Hawk didn't have to, I knew that in time you would forgive me but I couldn't say the same for him, besides you should be thanking me for getting revenge on the Miyagi-Dos, they started the fight we just finished it" 

"Olivia that's not what sensei taught us" 

"he's not my sensei anymore" 

"After everything, Sensei did for you and Hawk the two of you betray him"

"Miguel he betrayed us" 

"Olivia this isn't you talking it's Kreese and Hawk they got in your head, you can change that if you leave Cobra Kai and join Sensei Lawrence's new Dojo, if you come others will follow we can show everyone that we aren't a bunch of bullies it could be like before"

"Guys check this out" we heard Kyler yell and we ran back to the cafeteria "he's standing around with a dick in his hand" I tried not to laugh along with the rest of the room 

"So these are your friends now," Miguel said walking away 

My heart was on the verge of breaking Miguel was my best friend he wasn't mad but he was disappointed which somehow made it so much worse.

"Hey Olivia come back," Rickenburger yelled I walked back to the Cobra Kai table and sat down next to Hawk 

"Don't worry" Hawk said "Miguel will come around"  

I hoped he was right.
