Manik Nandini entered the party hall hand in hand. It would be a lie if we say a few heads didn't turn their way when they walked in. Soha who was eagerly waiting for Manik frowned the instant she saw Nandini's hand looped around his arm. But shrugging it off as a friendly gesture, she came forward almost falling over Manik trying to welcome him with a hug. He lightly pushed her away from himself not before taking a quick glance at Nandini who was seething with rage by now.

"Manik... You are finally here. I was waiting for you since so long. Come inside... I'll take you to Dad.", She started talking in a sugar coated voice completely ignoring Nandini's presence.

"Hello Ms. Khurana. Thanks for inviting us. You should go ahead, we'll join you in a few minutes.", He said with a tight lipped smile making sure that she acknowledged Nandini's presence by punctuating the 'we' part for her.

She nodded reluctantly & left with a formal nod towards Nandini.

"I hate that bitch.", Nandini pressed his arm indicating how much she hated Soha.

"Hmm... Feelings are mutual. Let's just get done with the formal greetings. Then we can sneak out?", He raised his eyebrow mischievously making her smile brightly at him.

Soha was glancing their way every now & then. The way Manik was so comfortable with Nandini holding his hand or her being close to him. She was not liking their closeness.

"I need to do something.", She mumbled & left towards the dj. She whispered something in his ear & came towards the stage.

"Ladies & gentleman, as Dad announced some minutes ago about our new Film Ashiqui 2... I would like to give a small tribute to the original movie. So here is a small performance from my side on one of the best song from the movie Ashiqui.", She announced & gestured the dj to play the song.
