Guinevere Pov.

The castle was dark, the only source of light came from the torches that danced along the walls, making it possible to see a bit. Gwen hurried through the corridors, her dark and curly hair was held together by a clip, keeping it from falling into her eyes as she made her way towards Morgana's Chambers.

When she arrived, she heard Morgana yell, and call her name. Gwen quickly stepped inside, closing the double doors behind her, so they shut out most of the noises outside. "I'm here." She whispered, lighting the cadle on Morgana's bedside, so she could see. It was very late, and everyone was asleep. There was the faint clatter of armour every now and then when the guards passed the doors, but that was it.

She rushed over to the king's ward, who was sitting up in bed, her face - white as a sheet, breathing quickly and irregular from screaming herself awake. Smiling softly, Gwen pulled her in for a hug, whispering soothing words to her.

It was really becoming a routine for Gwen to wake up in the night, and go to Morgana's chambers to check if she was having a nightmare, wich was almost every night nowadays. They had turned more vivid over the last months, and they couldn't for the love of god figure out why.

Gaius always had a sleeping draught prepeared for Morgana, but they seemed to have stopped working after years of doing it's work. "Do you want to talk about it?" Gwen asked, letting go from the warm embrace. Morgana instinctively pulled her covers up, hiding herself fully except her head, and sighed frustratedly, still shaking from her nightmare.

There was something about those dreams that had always pulled on Gwen's thoughts. She went to Merlin because he knew more about magic than she did, or anyone in Camelot, really, since it was outlawed. He thought so too. There was something questioning about it, and how Morgana sometimes knew things that hadn't even come to pass yet. It got her thinking.

When she suggested to Merlin that it might be magic, he agreed with her, and said he had suspected it for a long time. After a few questions from Gwen, he'd told her about seers. They were a rare kind of magic practicioners, who were born with the ability to see the near future. Sometimes, they could even jump years ahead and witness something that somehow involved their future.

After that, Merlin had put an emphasis on the 'don't tell Uther' part. She got that part. The king would surely have Morgana burned at the stakes, no matter how much he claimed to love her.

Gwen promised that she would take the secret to her grave, she would never let anything happen to Morgana. She was her best friend. She couldn't lose anyone else to Uther. Not since her father. Besides that, they both shared the same obsession. Merlin and Arthur's story.

Morgana took a deep breath and rested her head on the backboard, closing her eyes for a second. Gwen turned around, and walked over to the drawer beneath the mirror.

She pulled out a dark hairbrush. They didn't remember how she got it, it was probably a birthday gift or something, but Morgana had it for years now. Gwen closed the drawer with the knob, and jumped slightely. The sound of it hitting the desk sounded way louder in the night.

She silently made her way back to Morgana, and they were both silent as she combed her hair. That seemed to help, they had figured that out over a year ago. The brush easily went through the black, silk hair locks. Morgana really had beautiful hair.

A few minutes went by with Gwen brushing Morgana's hair as she calmed down. The air was cold, but there was a fire going, that warmed the chamber well enough.

"It was about Camelot." Morgana suddenly blurted out.

Guinevere immediately looked up. "What happened?" "There was a battle in front of the castle. Everyone was fighting for their lives. Merlin was there too..." She trailed off, not being able to say whatever she wanted to say.
