[06] "It's About You."

Genevieve was in the market with Elijah, she was getting fruits for her family and her guests for her home. Gen picked up an apple and put it in her basket. Elijah was watching her every move. He was so fond of her, with everything she did. Even with her simple actions, "You know it's rude to stare." Gen said as she picked up a peach.

Elijah looked away for a moment then looked back at her, "So what are your plans for the day miss Genevieve?" Elijah asked.

Gen looked over the boxes full of fruits, "Chores." Gen spoke.

She looked up at Elijah as she said that, "I'm sure it won't take all day right?" Elijah asked.

Genevieve stopped what she was doing and looked up at him, "Why?" She asked him with a smile on her face.

She thought about it for a moment then realized, "Is this your way of asking if I could spend the afternoon with you?" Gen asked.

"That is if you want to." Elijah asked with a smirk.

"I would love to."

Gen and Elijah had made it back to their home. They walked in and it was complete madness. Kori and Emilia were having it out, throwing things. Elijah almost got hit with a shoe but caught it in time. The girls always had one thing in common, their fathers' temper.

The Mikaelson brothers, Rebekah, and Genevieve's brothers were watching them argue but no one was stepping in, "What's going on?" Gen asked James.

"It's about you," James said.

James and Theo decided to leave, the two were going hunting to get dinner for the night, "We'll be back later." James said placing a kiss on Gen's forehead.

Gen turned to him again, "You're leaving me to deal with this?" Gen questioned angrily.

"Of course, I'm not the one they're fighting about. Maybe talk it out?" James said.

James grabbed his bow and Theo's then the two left the home. Gen placed her hand on her forehead as she still heard Kori and Emilia fighting. She let out a sigh then turned to the Mikaelsons, "You couldn't have stopped this?" Gen asked Nik.

"It's quite entertaining," Nik said sitting back.

Gen grabbed the knife from Kol and he looked from his brothers and sisters back to Gen, "She's going to stab them." Kol said.

"Gen-"

"I'm not gonna hurt them, just scare them a little bit," Gen spoke.

Nik smiled at the fact that he liked this side of her. Gen stood in front of them as they continued to argue, "Emilia-"

"Why can't you just accept it!" Emilia yelled.

"Kori-"

"Why can't you stay out of everyone's business!" Kori questioned

"You thinking about yourself again, you are the queen of being in everyone's business!" Emilia yelled

"Hey!" Genevieve yelled as she stabbed the table hard.

She finally got their attention, "Are you mad? Coming over with a knife, like your so badass?" Kori asked

Emilia stared at her sister as Kori looked at Gen, "What's going on?" Gen asked.

Kori let out a sigh before speaking, "Olivia told me that you ran into Prince Jasper. Saving him a dance huh? What else are you saving for him? Or maybe for Alexander, or maybe for those two other there." Kori yelled that last part directed towards Elijah and Niklaus.

"What are you going around giving yourself up for everyone?" Kori asked.

Genevieve's anger had the best of her. She lifted her hand and slapped her sister in the face, "How dare you to talk about me like that! I have been nothing but a good house guest to them, I've known Alexander for years, and Kori for god's sake it's a dance it's not like I'm sleeping with any of them." Genevieve yelled.

Kori stayed silent, "Why are you yelling at Emilia, it's not her fault. And if you ever throw something at her again, it's your funeral. I absolutely wouldn't mind getting my hands dirty " Gen spoke.

The room was silent. No one moved, no one said a word. Clarrissa and Esther came into the home looking around, "Why's it so quiet in here, you guys are always talking up a storm-"

Clarrissa stopped as she saw a handprint on Kori's face, "What happened to your face, my love?" Clarrissa asked.

Clarrissa put her hand on where the handprint was. Kori flinched a little as it still stung a bit, "Why don't you ask your wench of a daughter?" Kori asked looking Genvieve directly into her eyes.

Clarrissa's eyes widened as she heard those words come out of her mouth, "What are you talking about?" Clarrissa asked.

Genevieve had enough of the stares, the words, everyone. She went for the door and left her home.

Gen threw another rock into the lake. She picked up another one with her right hand. There was a shadow on the bank, she thought it was Kori coming to apologize, "Want some company?" Nik said sitting down by her.

Gen stayed silent as she threw another rock, "You are literally the sweetest girl I ever met, I saw you turn into-"

"My father, I turned into my father," Gen muttered.

Gen looked to the ground then looked to him, "I didn't like the way she made me out to be. I'm not like that, I just get along with everyone. I didn't mean to hit her, it's just-"

"You were angry, it's a normal human reaction," Klaus spoke.

Gen giggled, "Yeah, were you like that when you were human?" She asked getting more serious.

Nik licked his lips, "I used to be like you." He said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Gen asked.

"It means I was gentle with my words, I know you wanted to say more back there. You were holding back, you have to let that fire out, or sooner or later you'll break." Klaus said.

Gen felt her eyes sting, "What if I need to break, what if I can't do it? People have these expectations of me Nik and I can't live up to them. My mother thinks I can be the one who will save this family if I marry Prince Jasper but I don't want to. I want-"

"What do YOU want?" Niklaus asked.

"I want to get out of this place, I wanna travel, see the world. I'm not gonna live forever like you so I want to see what I can while I'm still alive." Gen let out.

Tears were rushing down her face. Gen moved her hair from her face and looked at Nik, "I think you have the power to do what you want, human or not. You're not like every other girl that I've met Genevieve, you're more powerful than what meets the eye." Klaus spoke.

Nik watched her wipe her tears away, "I wouldn't see why he wouldn't want to marry you. You're everything and so much more." Nik said.

Gen smiled at him, "You think?" She spoke,

"Darling I know." Nik finished.

Nik's eyes flickered to her lips then back to her eyes. He leaned forward just a bit, testing her before doing anything. Gen leaned in a bit more then Nik closed the gap between them. His lips connected with her's. His lips moved softly as they kissed each other. a few seconds went by and Nik pulled away, "Gen!"

Genevieve heard her name being called and she turned around to see Olivia, "We need to talk details about tomorrow and about your future husband." Olivia said walking to the two.

Olivia looked at the two, "What did I miss?"
