It was simple. Life, before I met Nik, was so dull and plain. It was almost like he woke something up in me and it hasn't gone away. It was as if I was drawn to him, almost like I needed him in my life. My life was almost normal but then the Mikaelson family came into my life. Well, not the whole family. The two brothers changed my life forever, Niklaus and Elijah Mikaelson.

-

It was so dull. Everything had become boring. It wasn't like there was anything ever going on in the village. The kingdom rarely had events going on, but when they did it could last for weeks, "Genevieve!" Emilia said looking at her sister eagerly.

"What is it?" Genevieve questioned.

Genevieve had walked closer to her sister as she looked at the news board. One of many around the village. Usually, the king has a messenger to go to the middle of the market and announce whatever was going to happen.

"The kings throwing a Ball." Genevieve read from the board.

Kori had appeared behind them looking at the board, "Finally." She muttered

Kori had looked down at her sisters and smiled, "Better get our best dresses out." She said to her sisters.

Kori had then walked away, leaving the two girls alone, "Great." Emilia spoke.

Genevieve had walked over to the market. Her loose curls were getting in her face from the wind. She walked a little further and her hair had gotten in her eyes. Before she had moved her hair and gotten it out of her eyes she had collided into someone's chest. She blinked to get her vision back in focus, she looked up at the man in front of her. Her eyes had widened as she realized who she had collided with, "My lord, please accept my apology." Genevieve said while doing a curtsy.

Prince Jasper Fitzgerald, the next in line for the crown. He had every maiden in the village drooling over his presence, but not Genevieve, "My apology, I should have been looking to where I was going." Prince Jasper spoke.

Genevieve had looked up at him and smiled. He returned the favour as well, "May I ask for your name?" He asked Genevieve.

"Genevieve." She spoke.

"Genevieve? That's beautiful." Prince Jasper said.

His words caused Genevieve's face to turn a shade of pink, "I'll be on my way now." Genevieve said.

"If you're going to the ball, save a dance for me, darling." Prince Jasper said.

Genevieve had strolled through the village, past the market seller as she went. She went to meet with her family in her home that she has lived in for her whole life. The village men had looked at Genevieve as if she were a piece of meat to them. There was no doubt about it, Genevieve is a beautiful woman, some would have said one of the most beautiful in the whole village. Genevieve's mother had been trying to set Genevieve up to marry, only that's not what Genevieve wants. She doesn't want to marry anyone at all.

As soon as Genevieve had gotten home she was greeted with Emilia. She greeted her younger sister with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes.

"Why are you so happy?" Emilia asked.

Genevieve thought for a moment. She wanted so badly to tell someone about what just happened, "Why can't I be happy Emilia? It's okay to smile once in a while." Genevieve said to her younger sister.

Kori had appeared in front of them, "We have visitors, mother said they will be staying for a while." Kori spoke.

Emilia and Genevieve had rolled their eyes. It was normal for Kori to know things before anyone else. Before long, the family moved their way in front of their home, "Children, I want to introduce you to our new guests." Their father spoke.

A family of six stood in front of them. Something about the family seemed off to Genevieve but she just pushed the feeling away. One, in particular, stood out to Genevieve, "Don't be rude, introduce yourselves." Their mother said.

Of course, Kori went first seeing how she always thought she was better than all her siblings but would never admit it to their faces. "Nice to meet you, I'm Kori," Kori said then curtsied.

Everyone took a moment to introduce themselves, "Who might you be?" One of them said.

Genevieve had looked at the man, "Genevieve Carpenter sir." Genevieve had said with a curtsy.

Genevieve had stood with her face a shade of pink as the man continued to look at her and smirk, "Niklaus Mikaelson." He said taking Genevieve's hand into his and placed a kiss on the front of her hand.

Her sisters were watching the man as he continued to stare at Genevieve, "It's a pleasure to meet you all." Genevieve said to the family in front of her.

The family smiled as they were being welcomed into the home.

What Genevieve and her family didn't know is that they invited monsters into their home.
