"By the Mother," Kai stood, startling the people in the room at his sudden outburst, his father standing with him. "She's wielding the heavens."

"You know what it is?" His father asked, watching as his sons eyes stayed glued to the woman on the monitor who's eyes were like storms, the thunder rolling in around her, clouds forming into dark clumps of anger, her fingers throwing lightening between the others. "You know what she's doing?"

Kai couldn't help the disbelieving laugh that left him, already walking towards the door; "She's calling to me."

"What do you mean calling to you?" His father tried to chase him, but Kai was already sniffing his way out of their hidden camp.

"I'll explain everything when we get back." Kai stood at the front door, finally unbuttoning the last of his shirt and dropping it where he stood. "Right now, I have to protect what's mine."

Kai tore out of the fortress and into the forest that surrounded their hidden camp, hearing the vicious tearing of the rest of his clothes as he shifts. Anyone who tried to catch a glimpse of the dragon was not so lucky, he was like a shadow in the night, one moment he was there and the next he was gone. Only the sound of his wings in the wind could be heard, the whistle moved through the sun filled forest as the black opal of his scales reflected a glow as Kai flew from the forest to the ocean, where he was needed most.

Sol's feet had left the stone of the courtyard, as she levitated a few feet in the air, a storm brewing above her, around her, within her. As the rolling of thunder grew louder, the wind pushed harder against her, her hair falling around her as the mask she wore left her unmasked for them all to see.

"The Queen." A King's guard called, drawing the attention of everyone surrounding them, including the wolves who now stalked her. "It's the Queen, stand down."

That only caused the wolves to snarl louder, threatening Sol as they swarmed around her, targeting their prey who conjured a storm around them. Lightening twitched, sparking a current through her blood of pure energy, balling into her hands what could only be described as the wrath of their Gods.

Gods which the wolves did not bow to, evident in how they attacked her, Sol aiming the lightening at the closest wolf and burning into him. The wolf now lie in a scorched heap, causing the wolves to pause for a moment, mourning the loss of one of their own before thundering towards the witch.

But she was fast, fast enough to plant her feet on the ground and aim another bolt at the wolf behind her, hitting her mark efficiently. Striking another wolf dead, Sol caught sight of Nai, running across the roof top, stopping on the edge, and sending his own magic to pick up a wolf coming for Sol. Nai threw the wolf into ruins of a stone house, making sure to crumble the rest of the heavy stones onto the wolf and burying it under the ruins.

Then they heard it, heard the whistling of wind, hidden under cover of the storm overhead, that could somehow be heard within the thunder. The sound even caused Sol to look up and into the merciless anger of the storm above her, trying to look for what could cause such a noise for the senses of wolves to collapse.

She watched as lightning struck, hitting the wolf next to her, before the whistling built once again within the clouds. The she felt it, the roar of a dragon, the shadow landing in the courtyard just behind Sol, who was not scared but rather safe.

Her dragon had come.

Her dragon wrapped a tail in front of her, a boundary.

Her dragon, black as the night, silver, purple and blue in the sunlight.

Her dragon roars.

"DRAGON!"

Kai tucked his wings around himself and Sol, blocking out any light of the outside world to the eyes of Sol who only looked up. She had turned and looked into the eyes of the dragon, seeing the light build in his chest, causing her to reach out towards him. Her hands, Kai noticed was always so warm, sat against his chest, the dragon grumbling as he came to realize that her hand did not burn because of him, but he burned for her.
