Lyria swore when nothing happened. She and Vera had spent the morning drawing the Wrydmarks correctly, but nothing was happening.
"Why isn't it working!" Lyria yelled in frustration.
"I think I know what you need." Lyria stood up out of the circle and walked to the table where Vera was sitting. She handed her a drink and Lyria took it thankfully.
"I'll try anything." She said honestly, taking a gulp of water.
"I think you need Casteel, as your anchor." Lyria clenched her jaw but nodded, staring down at her tattooed hand.
"You may have a point."
"I'll come with you." She offered.
"You just wanna see Mor again." Lyria taunted and Vera rolled her eyes.
"Maybe..."
----------
"LYRIA!" Lyria started laughing as Cassian launched himself at her. He lifted her up and swung her around.
"We missed you!" Someone bumped Cassian out the way and he barked, wings flaring to keep him balanced. Mor took his place and hugged Lyria tightly.
"I've only been away a week!"
"A week too long!" Mor stated then she turned to Vera and hugged her too.
"I missed you guys too." She flicked Cassian's nose and his face turned serious.
"Casteel's so sorry, Lyria, honestly."
"It's fine, I've found a way to get home."
"I'm so happy for you!" The door opened and three figures entered. Feyre, Rhysand and...Casteel. He looked like he hadn't slept in ages, dark circles around his eyes and pale skin. His eyes locked on her's immediately and his hands clenched by his sides as he fought every instinct to hold her.
"Lyria! Its nice to see you again." Feyre gushed and Rhysand nodded smiling.
"I'm so sorry. How are you?" Casteel attempted slowly, scared she would yell. Lyria took a deep breath.
"Fine, you?"
"I missed you." Anger flared, it reminded her of what he had done.
"Yeah well the only reason I'm back is because I need your help."
"Anything."
"What can we do?" Rhysand added.
"So I worked out that the reason I was able to come over to this world was because Casteel was acting as my anchor here, I can travel back to my world as my family will act as my anchor. I know the Wyrdmarks I need to draw but I think I need my anchor to complete the portal." She faced Casteel again, to find him already looking at her. The offer was out; she needed him to help her get home, it all relied on him. The others winnowed out, leaving them alone.
"I'll do it." He said after a moment.
"Really?" She said surprised.
"You deserve to get home. I can't imagine being away from my family for that long, it was such a dick move of me to try to stop you. I was being selfish. I really am sorry Lyria, I'll try my best to get you home."
"Thank you." She smiled, forgiving him. Slowly, she walked over to him and tentatively hugged him. His arms came around her immediately. Lyria relaxed, she missed this.
"Will you come back?" He asked after a minute.
"Yes, and you can come with me too. Then your parents will act as your anchors so we can come back here." She didn't know why she had told him that.
"I'd love to meet your family." He murmured into her hair and she grinned into his shoulder.
-----an hour later------
They were in the middle of the training arena, as it was big enough for them to draw the circle and have the court there too. The circle was drawn and they were saying their goodbyes. Casteel mentioned what Lyria had told him and they all frowned at the part where Casteel said he would go with her.
"Absolutely not." Rhys said straight away and Casteel winced.
"Dad, I'll come back, we can go back and forth."
"What if it doesn't work?" Feyre asked.
"Lyria's mother knows all about world travelling, I'm sure she could get me back."
"It's not worth the risk."
"I agree," Azriel stepped forward, "We don't know enough." Casteel's hand tightened around Lyria's shoulder.
"I'm sorry Rhys junior but Az's right." Cassian said and Casteel glared at the general.
"I'm not leaving Lyria."
"You are not travelling to her world with her. I can't risk it." Rhys said, his words firm. Lyria tried to stop herself crying, it meant she wouldn't see him for ages, perhaps forever. But there was a part of her that knew the court had a point, he could get stuck and being away from family was something she would never wish on anyone.
"They have a point, Cas, there's too much at stake. This is a whole other world we are talking about." He turned to her sharply, she lifted his arm off her and stepped away. He reached for her but she stepped back into the Wrydmark circle and the symbols glowed, in the presence of Casteel. He tried to get in to the circle but the symbols flared and he shot back as if he were burned.
"I'm don't want to be away from you again."
"I'm sorry."
"Lyria, please, let me in!" He made for the circle but Cassian held him back.
"Lyria!"
"I'll come back to this world, if it works." She assured him and the symbols glowed brightly, almost blocking her from view.
"NO LYRIA!" He strained against the general and Rhys held his other arm.
"See you soon." She smiled at him as her vision went white and she felt herself tumbling through air. Casteel sent a spear of his power, not at the circle but on one of the Wyrdmarks instead. Immediately he felt himself being catapulted forward and into the circle. He heard his family screaming his name but he was tumbling through empty space.
Author's note:
I'm actually so sorry about this shit chapter, I wrote it in like five minutes and was rushing it soooo hard and I haven't edited but I just wanna get onto the next part.
So one person commented that they want a second story and no one said they didn't, so I'm just gonna assume you want a second part (Just be like NOOOOO ELIZA NOOOO, DON'T CONTINUE THIS SHIT EXCUSE FOR A STORY).
I've been writing it a bit and there's an opportunity for like another love interest, so I was wondering if you want Lyria to have another. LOVE TRIANGLEEEEEEE! I don't know why but I wrote that picturing the part of despicable me where he's like 'LIPSTICK TASER'!
I know it's really fucking annoying in books when the character always ends up with the person you didn't want them to be with(*cough*'I am become a blade' *cough*), so it'll be up to you guys who you want her to end up with, Casteel, love interest two or ya know both of them. When it comes to fae males, the more the merrier I like to say.
