NEW AUTHOR'S NOTE:

I would just like to say thank you guys so much for 3k reads! It honestly means the world. I'm not trying to be cocky because I know it's a small number compared to majority of people but AHHHH I'M SO HAPPY! I love every single one of you and I hope you're loving the story too?

I'm sorry for doing this because it's gonna come up with a new update but in reality it's not, I just really need more of your guys' opinions on what route you want me to take because I can't post the next chapter until I know (The author note at the bottom explains the choices)! Even if you only comment like '2' for another book that would be great!

Also, just to mention I imagine Vera as the beautiful Amita Suman (she is going to be playing Inej and I literally think she is perfect for the role):

"Uh I don't understand any of this, I've never come across Wrydmarks before." Vera sighed as peered down at the book, wisps of her raven hair escaping her braid. Lyria didn't respond, staring at the curtains framing the window. They were the exact colour of the purple specks in Casteel's eyes.

Fuck she missed him.

It was a constant ache in her chest, like there was a part of her missing. She was conflicted, half of her was angry that he lied, but the other missed his crooked smile and flirty jokes. It wasn't a shock to her that they were mates, she had slightly suspected it for a while. The primal part of her longed to be in his arms again. Gods someone out there must hate her, because if she went home so would never see him again. How was that fair? None of this was fucking fair.

"LYRIA!" She snapped her head to Vera, who looked exasperated.

"You were thinking about him again." Not a question. Over the past week that she had been at the day court, Vera had become a close friend.

"I was."  She admitted and Vera sighed.

"He probably had a reason for what he did, did you hear his story?"

"What is there to find out? What possible reason could he have for keeping the book hidden other than he was trying to wreck my chances of getting home! I'm sorry." Lyria apologised as her volume rose unintentionally.

"It's fine, I know you've got a lot on your mind." Lyria smiled thankfully at her. Vera's gaze caught on Lyria's amulet.

"I think you'll have to call your Mum. We're getting no where and you said she knew what," She paused to scan the title again, "Wyrdmarks are."

"She does, I've heard her talking about them. I just...this is my last chance to talk to them, then I really am alone."

"If it works you'll see them soon." She had a point. Vera pulled out a piece of spare parchment and a pen.
