"So Lyria, tell us about your home." Lyria, who has been pushing her food around her plate sat up straighter in excitement. She turned to Mor and grinned.

"Its absolutely beautiful! You've never seen anything like it, the sights, the sounds...and there's a window in my bedroom which I look out of at night and I can see every single star. Its beautiful." She sighed happily.

"You like looking at the stars?" Casteel asked her and she looked up, and gave him a soft smile.

"I love them, because you need darkness to see them and no matter how dark the night is, the stars are always there." As soon as she said it Lyria wished she hadn't, that was so cringy. Evangeline would have laughed at her for that.

"You deserve all the stars in the sky, darling." Casteel said quietly and Lyria blushed, turning back to her food. What the fuck.  Who says that to someone? That's so weird...

"You don't even know me." She protested embarrassed.

"I'd like to." Lyria's eyes flickered up to meet his, and then she looked away. While it was a lovely compliment, they literally met a day ago, so it was borderline creepy. He was nice to look at though, she admitted to herself.

"When's your next challenge Lyria?" Rhysand asked and she turned to him, glad for the subject change from the awkward conversation.

"In about a week, it's the semi-finals."

"Are you worried?"

"Not really. I have a backup plan." Her magic. Unless it decided not to work like the other night. To be fair, she had been really panicked. Of course her magic was a last resort and she wouldn't touch it unless she had to.

"Train with us tomorrow. I can teach you a few things." Cassian told her and she shrugged.

"Sure."

"It's at dawn and we have private training ring on the outskirts of town. Go to Rhys, mini Rhys, or blond Rhys and they can winnow you there." Mor let out an annoyed noise.

"Winnow?" Lyria asked.

"Like this." In a blink Casteel was suddenly standing at the other side of the room. It looked so much like her Uncle Fen that her chest hurt. Losing her appetite, she pushed her chair back and stood up.

"Thank you for the dinner but could you please tell me how to get back to my apartment."

"We have a spare room that you can sleep in for tonight?" Feyre offered and Lyria smiled gratefully.

"I would love that, thank you." Not for the first time, she wondered why they were being so nice. She supposed when you were as powerful as they were they didn't need to worry about one fae. That is, assuming her powers were under control, if not, perhaps they should be worried.

"It's down the corridor on the right, the second door.

Lyria walked out the door, trying to look graceful in her heels, like her Mum. Mum. The thought sent another pang of homesickness and tears pricked her eyes.

"Goodnight." She said quickly and nodded at the chorus of goodnights. Casteel remained quiet, a dark expression on his face. OK then. Lyria ignored it and walked out. She had spent another time with fae males to know they were stubborn at the best of times and had many mood swings. Lyria collapsed on the bed in her room, slipped into the pjs that were lying on it, got under the covers and finally let the tears stream from her eyes.

Everything about the dinner, the banter between them, reminded her of her family and it hurt. Did they know she had disappeared? Were they trying to get her back? She felt so alone, she didn't have anyone. She was scared too. If Casteel hadn't been there she would have died. All her training, useless.  Lyria crawled into a ball and sobbed silently. She wanted to go home.

Author's note:

Sorry I haven't updated in so long, I've got loads of homework and exams coming up and have no free time! I'll try and get at least one chapter out a week but they may be shit like this one.

I know there is no excitement or anything in this chapter, but it is another filler chapter. It was so boring to write but I don't want to do too many time skips. I also haven't proof read it hehe.

Try and guess what magic she has in the comments! IDK, not me trying to trick you into commenting...

Thanks for reading!
