It was midday and the hot sun beat mercilessly down on Lyria as she struggled to keep up with Cassian's workout regime. Sweat poured off her in places she didn't think it could, and that, paired with her frizzy hair -that had been messed up from her super sexy, sleek high ponytail- was enough to put her in a very very bad mood. Not the run of the mill bad mood, this was one of those touch me and I will kill you bad moods.
Either Cassian hadn't picked up on the fires of hell burning in her eyes or he pretended not to notice.
"Again!" He barked and Lyria stared at him, eye twitching.
"What did you just say?" She said slowly.
"Are you deaf as well as a bad fighter?" He taunted. Lyria's hand itched towards the sword lying out of the circle. Maybe she'd give him a quick death...nah. Cassian rolled his eyes and kicked the sword further away.
"FUCK YOU!" She screamed, hoping the sound would burst his ear drums. Cassian just grinned.
"Feeling a bit dramatic today?"
"I hate you."
"Aw no you don't."
"I'm going to skin you alive."
"That's sweet." She groaned and curled up in a ball on the ground. Then got too hot so flopped into a starfish shape.
"You've only got twenty push ups left." Cassian squatted beside her. Lyria wailed and rolled away from him.
"I can't even do one push up. I have no upper body strength."
"No upper body strength...yet!" She didn't bother answering that. She didn't know why she had to be able to do a push up, it's not like in a fight she would just hop down and do a push up. What was the point of them?
"Ten push ups and that's the end of physical training." Cassian offered and Lyria's head shot up.
"What?"
"Ten more and we're done."
"You're serious?" Cassian nodded. Lyria groaned but pushed herself up into position.
"Butt down." Cassian ordered and Lyria turned her head and glared at him.
"Fine fine....and go!"
"I'm doing this in my own bloody time." Cassian chuckled and stepped back. Lyria lowered herself slowly and pushed back up, wincing as her arms nearly buckled.
"One down nine to go."
"Ahhhhhh..." She moaned as she did another.
"PAIN IS GAIN!" Cassian screamed in her ear and she nearly fell over.
"I hate you." She struggled through her third and fourth.
"This is taking so long." Cassian complained and Lyria rolled her eyes.
"I'm taking my time. Don't rush me." Cassian held up his hands up. Ten seconds later he was crouched next to her again.
"KEEP GOING! PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING THE BODY! MAKE PAIN YOUR BITCH!" Lyria couldn't stop the laugh escaping her, making her arms shake. She struggled through the last four and then collapsed in a heap.
"Well done! I mean it did take a while..."
"I think my arms are broken!"
"Oh look just in time, hi Casteel!" Lyria sat up immediately and ran a hand through her hair only to find out he had been joking.
