Second Chance: A Sanvers Story

My mama likes you

It was Thursday and Alex had another busy day at the DEO. She had just caught another alien with Kara and was putting him into a cell when her phone buzzed. It was her nanny for Eva. The text read:

"Hey Alex, i'm so sorry i can't get Eva today my mum is sick in the hospital and iv got to catch an emergency flight. You don't need to pay me for this time i'm so sorry if this has caused an inconvenience."
Alex replied with:
"Hey no no go be with your mum i'm still going to pay you don't worry."

Damn it Alex thought she had a problem. Then it hit her. Maggie? No it was to much. Just then her phone rang and it was Maggie.

"Hey Mags"

"Danvers haven't heard from you for a while iv been so busy"

"Ah i'm so sorry so have i and now iv got to figure out a way to get Eva as my nanny has an emergency."

"Well i could pick her up?" Maggie suggested.

"What no that's to much to ask."

"No seriously Alex I can iv just wrapped up i can get her, we can take the bus back to yours and i'll keep her entertained and give her a snack."

"Really?"

"Of course i'll head there now"

"Oh Maggie your a life saver. She's in 3rd Grade i'll just let the school know."

"See you later Danvers."

Maggie arrived at Evermont creast and picked up Eva. The sun was shining and Eva was looking a bit low on energy so they decided to go get ice cream. Eva picked out chocolate ice cream with rainbow sprinkles on top, while Maggie had vegan vanilla with peanuts on top. The two of them sat in the ice cream parlour while munching on their food.
"So Eva how was your day at school?" Maggie asked.

"It was okay.." Eva said sadly.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeh." Eva replied with a sigh.

"You know you can tell me if there is something on your mind." Maggie was hoping it wasn't to serious because she didn't know how to parent. But she felt an instinct to ask.

"Well there are these girls and guys at school who are making fun of me."

"Do you know why?"

"Um..I'm not sure mama would want me to say."

"You don't have to tell me Eva but i'm here to help you and i'm sure your mum wouldn't mind if i'm giving you advice. You don't have to tell her you told me if it will upset her."

"Hm ok, well mama likes you but not just as a friend and i was telling my friend Anna about how mama was on a date with you and they overheard. So they then said that i'm so weird and so is my mum and then they pushed me and took my bag and put it in a tree." Eva explained.

"Oh Eva you know people are always going to judge you no matter what you just have to ignore them." Maggie wanted to pretend she didn't realise Alex liked her and their kiss was just impulse but she loved Alex still and she was growing on Eva.

"Shall we head back missy?"

"Ok Maggie, but i have a question for you"

"Spill the beans little one"

"Do you like my mama?"

"Oh Eva I do. But it's complicated."

The two of them headed back to the house where then Eva was doing some homework and Maggie was helping her just when Alex was walking in. The two of them didn't even notice and Alex took in this situation as it was so perfect. She then finally spoke.

"Hey hey you guys!"

"Hi mama!! Maggie and me got ice cream after school and i got chocolate with rainbow sprinkles."

"Oh you did, well no wonder your energetic"

"Oh Eva that was our little secret!!" Maggie said this as she tapped Evas nose. Eva just giggled.

"Maggie was helping me with my homework and she's really smart."

"I know she is. You must be hungry darling why don't you put this away and go and wash up ready for dinner."

"Ok mama." Eva ran off with her homework upstairs leaving the two alone.

"Thank you Maggie i don't know what i would of done without you being here today. Oh and how much was the ice cream let me pay you back."

"Oh no no don't worry. It's my pleasure Danvers"

"Ugh Mags your so amazing." Alex said with a smile. She then washed up and put in the pre made chicken pie into the oven.

"Oh Alex i could've done that"

"I know my pleasure though" Alex said with a wink.

"We should talk about what happened on Sunday." Maggie suggested.

"Oh yeh, well we broke up for a reason and that was about kids. If we were to get back together we would already have a kid."

"I know Danvers, i really like Eva she's a great kid I just have an instinct with her."

"So what you want kids now?"

"Alex the one person to make me want kids is you. You and Eva are it for me."

Just like that the two of them went in and locked lips again. They passionately kissed eachother soaking up on what they had missed out on. Alex grabbed Maggies face and continued kissing while Maggie did the same to Alex. The two of them were getting so lost in the kiss they both wanted it to last forever.

"Oh so I was right." Eva exclaimed from the hallway.

Maggie just laughed and replied "Oh this one has a natural instinct."

Eva ran up to Alex and gave her a massive hug.
"I knew it mama, I knew you and Maggie liked eachother."

Alex picked her daughter up and wrapped her round her and looked Eva in the eyes.
"You missy really don't know how to keep something quiet. But I love you so much I always will."
