Bryce's POV
I decided to bring up the text messages from that one guy to Nia because I wanted to find out if she had a boyfriend. The idea of Nia with someone else other than me pained me. I quickly fell for Nia's looks and personality.
She was just every guy's dreams. When I saw her on the softball field at practice one day, you could tell she controlled the game and was in her own little world. She even had a great taste in music. Nia was just like a go with the flow type of person and knew what to say and what to do. She was the first girl that didn't try to hit on me and treated me normally.
It seemed like she didn't know how much she would brighten my day. She could make a whole room of people smile and laugh. Thats what type of person she was. Nia always put others before her and tried to help others as much as she could.
I was very protective of Nia I didn't want any guy to capture her heart. I wanted her to be mine, if I had enough guts to ask her out. But I might be too late someone might of already had a hold on her. She was oblivious of how I would look at her or try to hint that I might like her. But she never noticed me.
When I heard that, the guy texting her was her internet boyfriend my heart just broke. I was hoping she wasn't going to say that but things never go my way. So I wanted to go meet this guy and see if he actually is the right one for her. If it can't be me it has to be someone worthy enough for Nia's love. I'll always have a spot in my heart for Nia but maybe it wasn't meant to be. I'll ways be there for her no matter what she's my best friend.
I was really dreading meeting the guy because what if he was really nice? What if he wasn't a bad guy after all? What if he's perfect for Nia? I won't ever have a chance with her... ever. She was already committed to Ohio State for softball and I was committed to Texas for baseball, this was my only chance to be with her. This was our first and last year together. But you can't fight for something you never even had.
