Uhhh so I have totally zero idea whose POV this is, tell me if you know!
Sophie walked towards the dragon. This was fine, everything was fine. Because no one she actually knew knew how to use a wand, she had been practicing the spell to to lift things up (aka WingAAAARRRdium LeviOOOOOOOsa), but she hadn't made much progress. She had planned to lift up the dragon, but since she couldn't master the spell, she decided to try telekinesis. Never mind the reactions. Just then, a thought entered her mind. Maybe she could enter its mind. If she could tame it... She entered the dragon's mind. It felt... weird. Strange, cold, and empty. Kind of like the gorgodon's. But if she concentrated really hard, a memory would flash into her head. Often it was of the cruelty it had faced. Sophie felt sympathetic for the dragon. She wouldn't want to be beaten and chained for all of her life either.
Friend, she told the dragon. Friend.
The dragon's mind immediately flashed to the brutal treatment it had been exposed to.
No, transmitted Sophie. No. Friend. Good.
The dragon's memories stopped for a moment. It seemed to be pondering about Sophie.
Friend. Good. Friend. Good. Friend. Good. Sophie kept transmitting the two words.
Friend, decided the dragon.
Sophie was relieved. Slowly, she inched towards the golden egg, while sending the dragon happy memories, like the times she had flown with Silveny, or played with Iggy. Soon, she was right next to the nest.
Friend, transmitted Sophie to the dragon.
Good, she transmitted, along with an image of what she was going to do.
Slowly, Sophie stretched out her hands, and then she inched even closer to the egg. Soon, her hands felt the smooth, metallic side of the egg. She gripped the egg, and raised it up high to the judges. Then she felt searing hot.
