"Hey Cobra." Miguel said as he sat down for our breakfast. I felt like we needed to meet up so I could explain everything going on.
"Hey Eagle Fang...that just doesn't have the same kind of ring." I laughed. I had already ordered for us since I knew Miguel always got the same thing.
"Okay, so why are you at Cobra Kai again?" He was eager to know what was going on with me.
"Johnny asked me to get Hawk to join Eagle Fang even after everything that happened. I knew that Hawk wouldn't listen to me if I just approached him and asked him because trust me, I've tried that like a million times. The only thing I could think of was forcing him to be around me, which meant I would have to join Cobra Kai. I'll explain it to Johnny next time I see him." It sounded ridiculous when I said it out loud.
"What's it like being back at the dojo? Is it weird?" He sipped his hot coffee in front of him.
"It's definitely strange but I finally understand why so many people are loyal to Kreese. He makes you feel powerful and worthy. If I wasn't already aware of his brainwashing, I would probably be in trouble." It was my turn to sip my coffee.
"Is it all worth it? Do you think you're getting through to Hawk?" Miguel was actually interested in knowing.
"I think eventually I'll get through to him. At this point, I know he's aware of how bad Cobra Kai has gotten but I think he's afraid to leave for some reason. That's what I'm going to try to figure out today." There was a lot I still needed to figure out.
"Oh, you have class today?"
"Yeah, I have to leave soon. Kreese is a little intense when it comes to training. He has class everyday for multiple hours. I've already considered skipping for the day but the quicker I can get Hawk to join Eagle Fang, the less time I have to spend at Cobra Kai."
"Man, you've only been there for a day and you're already thinking about skipping class?" He joked. I rolled my eyes at him. "Wait, last I checked, you and Hawk weren't talking. What happened with that?" Honestly I barely knew.
"Well, we weren't talking because I thought he had given up on the whole being a better person thing but turns out he just felt guilty being around me...I think. I'm still not sure. That's why I feel obligated to shove my way back into his life. I'm not letting him give up on himself." Plus, he's my weakness.
"He's lucky to have you in his life." Miguel admitted.
"What about you? How was the big meeting last night?" I changed the subject and his face lit up.
"It was amazing! I wish you were there with us."
"Us?" I questioned.
"Yeah, Sam and I worked together to fight for the All Valley and we were pretty successful if I say so myself. They agreed to put it back on." I hadn't thought of Sam in a long time. After I helped Miyagi Do attack Cobra Kai at the laser tag place, we stopped talking. I knew Daniel had started classes back up but that was about it.
"Congratulations!" I was happy that he was happy.
"Speaking of Sam, I have to go. I promised to meet up with her this morning. Good luck with your Cobra Kai mission and remember that you are Eagle Fang Karate at heart, alright?" He got up and left.
I finished my coffee and left for class. I was driving my dad's BMW since my car was destroyed. I played dumb and told my parents that I had no clue who had spray painted the jeep. If I told them it was Tory there was a good chance that she would have ended up in trouble with her parole officer. Even though she was the absolute worst, I wasn't a monster.
