"I'm going to run inside to get more chips. Do you guys want anything?" I asked the girls.
"Kyler's been eye-banging you all day." Yasmine said to Sam, completely ignoring me.
"No we are good. Thanks Liv." Sam replied with an apologetic look.
The party wasn't terrible, but I still hated all of Sam's friends and this included the guys. I don't know why I thought they would be nice. All they wanted was to get into the girl's pants. Poor Sam thought Kyler actually liked her. I walked into the kitchen to hide from the party. Someone had taken all the chips, so I walked into the pantry to get more snacks out. I wasn't even the party host yet I was doing all the work. I grabbed the cookies and popcorn from the top shelf and walked back into the kitchen. Thats when I heard the muffled yelling.
"Alright. Everybody get out of here right now." That was Daniel's voice. Sam said he wasn't supposed to be home for another two hours. I stayed inside hoping to avoid the conflict. Amanda joined me in the kitchen, most likely avoiding the situation as well.
"Maybe you should get out there for Sam." Amanda said.
"Do you think she really needs me? Sounds like she's holding up pretty well." I tried getting out of it.
"No ma'am. Go outside and be there for her. She would do it for you." She was right. Sam would do anything for me. I put on a brave face and left the comfort of the kitchen to join the battle.
"Is he wearing my bathing suit? Wait. Are all of you guys wearing my bathing suits? Alright parties over. Let's go. Take the suits off and leave." Daniel instructed. Amanda followed me outside and pulled Daniel inside. I looked to Sam, crossing my fingers that wouldn't be too mad.
"Are you okay Sam?" She had her arms crossed with her back to me.
"I cannot believe he kicked them out! Mom gave me permission to have friends over. I don't care if they came home early. I had the right to have my friends as my guests. He is so hot headed and irrational." She was pacing back and forth.
"I'm sorry. He doesn't know how to deal with your new friends. He's used to you and Aisha going to robot camp every summer."
"Yeah and I don't want to be stuck as a nerd for the rest of my life." She shocked me when she said that because I thought she loved Aisha.
"I'm going upstairs." She started to stomp away. "Don't follow me." Ouch she was bitching just like her friends.
This party just made me even more nervous for my first day of school.

I kept my head down as I walked through the halls. So far my first couple of classes were boring and uneventful other than Yasmine ignoring me in biology. I looked at my paper schedule for my next class. Math. Great, I sucked at math. I just hoped none of Sam's friends were in the class. I walked into the classroom and almost every desk was full except for one in the corner. I didn't recognize anyone so I put my head down and tried not to pull focus. Starting a new school in the middle of the semester was not ideal because everyone already had their friend groups and no one wanted to talk to the new girl.
"Hi, I'm Miguel. I'm new and you looked new too so I thought I'd introduce myself." Well maybe except for him.
"Hi Miguel, I'm Olivia." He was sitting in the desk on the right of me, beaming from eye to eye.
"You are new right? I saw you in the office this morning."
"Oh yeah. My dad got a new job so we moved here. I'm glad I'm not the only one going through their first day. I feel like everyone is secretly judging me." I whispered the last part to him.
