Hermione couldn’t sleep that night thinking about how Draco was being nice to her.
“Hermione!” Hannah shouted.
Hermione gasped and said “Huh? Yes Hannah?”
“Hermione, is something wrong? You look like you haven’t slept a wink and you were staring blankly into space a while ago.” Hannah said worriedly.
“I’m alright Hannah. Thanks for your concern. Maybe it’s because I’m not used to being a prefect.” Hermione said.
“Well, alright.”
All the students went to The Great Hall for Dumbledore’s announcements.
“Starting today until 3:00 a.m. tomorrow, all exams will be cancelled-” The students shouted lively before Dumbledore could finish his speech.
Hermione frowned.
McGonagall coughed.
“-thank you. Now, the reason for this is that we will be having the YULE BALL.” Dumbledore continued.
“”The Yule Ball? What is this about?” Hermione said to Harry.
“I don’t know. But maybe it’s because everything went back to normal.” Harry answered.
“I guess so but-” Hermione couldn’t finish what she was saying because Dumbledore gave a reminder.
“Just a reminder for everyone: At the Yule Ball you’ll be needing partners. Boys should partner with girls and vice versa.” Dumbledore added.
“WHAT??!” Hermione Shouted.
Hermione didn’t want to come because she was worried that nobody would ask her.
After lunch time, everyone was talking about the Yule Ball.
Even her friends were talking about the same thing.
“Hey Ginny!” Harry shouted.
“Yes Harry?” Ginny said.
“Would you like to be my partner for the Yule Ball?” Harry asked nervously.
“Of course Harry. I’d be delighted!” Ginny said happily.
Hermione frowned. Nobody has approached her yet or so she thought.
Back at the Prefect’s Common Room, Draco was seating on the couch looking a bit nervous.
“Hey Draco! What’s up?” Hermione shouted.
“Oh... Hi Hermione-”
Hermione looked puzzled. HERMIONE? That was the first time Draco called her by her first name.
“-is something wrong?” Draco asked.
“No. Nothing. So, do you want something?”
“Well, I was wondering if you already have a partner for the Yule Ball.” Draco said nervously.
“Sadly, I don’t have one. I guess no one wants me to be his partner.” Hermione frowned as she talked.
“Wanna be my partner? Pansy’s already said yes to someone else so I guess I can ask no one else but you… That is if you say yes…” Draco said nervously.
Actually… Pansy never said yes to anyone… Draco just made it up so that Hermione wouldn’t think that he likes her…
“Sure… I don’t mind.” Hermione smiled as she spoke.
When Hermione said yes… Draco almost hugged her because of too much joy… He almost jumped and shouted for joy…
When the night came… Hermione couldn’t sleep again thinking about how Draco was becoming nicer…
The next morning.
“Hey Hermione! Who are you going with to the Yule Ball?” Ginny asked.
“It’s a secret… You’ll know tonight…” Hermione smirked when she answered.
“Awwwe… That’s unfair…” Ginny pouted.
Hermione smiled.
“See you tonight!” Hermione said.
