“Where is she? What’s taking her so long?” Draco panted as he paced back and forth near the stairway.
Hermione was still upstairs too shy to come out and see the look on everyone’s faces.
When she went down the stairs, all eyes were on her. They were amazed at her beauty.
Draco saw her and instantly fell in love with her the moment he set his eyes on her.
Hermione was wearing a beautiful but simple blue dress with a pink ribbon at the waistline.
Her hair was fixed in beautiful curls tied up into a bun.
“You look… wonderful Hermione!” Draco blushed as he said those words.
His heart was pounding and beating so fast when he saw Hermione.
“Draco? Draco?” Hermione called out as she saw Draco’s jaw drop at the sight of her.
Draco gasped “Huh? Oh Hermione?”
“What’s wrong? You seem a little distracted…” Hermione said.
Draco blinked and stayed quiet.
“DRACO?!” Hermione shouted.
“I’m sorry-” Draco said.
Hermione was amazed.
For the first time in her life… Draco Malfoy said sorry to her.
As they entered the Great Hall, all eyes were on them.
“WHAT?! The Draco’s with the stupid mudblood?!” Pansy Parkinson shouted.
“Is that Hermione Granger-” Parvati said.
“-with Draco Malfoy?” Hannah continued.
“No, that’s impossible!” Ron shouted.
Ron and Harry turned pale.
Hermione smiled and waved to both of them.
Everyone danced until midnight.
“Hermione, would you like something to drink?” Draco asked sweetly.
“Sure.” Hermione answered with a smile.
Ron and Harry talked to Hermione looking furious.
“Bloody hell Hermione, what is wrong with you?!” Ron shouted.
“Being partners with that fowl git Malfoy!!” Harry added.
“We were just partners, what’s wrong with that?!” Hermione said.
Ron and Harry looked at each other.
“Blimey Hermione, he’s a Malfoy. Malfoy’s can’t be trusted!” Ron shouted.
“I know that. But he’s changed a lot…” Hermione defended Draco.
“Just be careful!” Harry reminded Hermione.
Just as Harry and Ron were leaving Ginny arrived.
“Blimey Hermione, why didn’t you tell me Draco was your partner?” Ginny asked curiously.
“Well… I just wanted to keep it as a surprise. Sorry Ginny…” Hermione apologized.
“Oh… It’s alright… Maybe you’re falling-” Ginny said.
“Hermione… Here’s your drink…” Draco interrupted.
“-I’ll leave you two love birds alone…” Ginny continued.
“Just ignore her Draco…” Hermione said.
“Well… I guess I better escort you to your room…” Draco said.
“Yeah, sure. I was getting tired actually.” Hermione said.
Draco escorted Hermione to her room.
“Good night Draco!” Hermione said as she yawned.
“Good night!” Draco replied.
When Hermione closed her door, Draco sighed and said: “What a day!”
During that time, Draco knew that he’s feelings for her wasn’t just developing little by little. He really was falling in love with Hermione.
