Chapter 11

It was a fresh new day. Mia woke up in good mood and got ready for the office with a smile on her face. 

When she stepped out of the door, she was greeted by a smiling Jake and they both sat in their car and left for her office.

Upon reaching, they saw Charlie and Mrs. Brown. Mrs. Brown was crying and Charlie was consoling her. Mia ran up to them and Jake followed.

"What happened?" Mia asked. Her worry was increasing as every second was passing by.

"Mia, George is dead." Mrs. Brown said. Mia was dumbstruck. She couldn't believe her ears.

She knew Mrs. Brown since sometimes she would be in Mr. Brown's office when Mia went for her therapy sessions. 

"Where is he?" Mia asked.

"I saw his dead body at home and then I ran here." Mrs. Brown replied.

Mia immediately left for her house and Jae went with her. After reaching, she rushed out of the car and into the house. Mrs. Brown was right, His dead body was right there in the living room. Mia covered her mouth with her hands in shock.

He had a cut on his throat and a stab right in his chest.  

Just then Mia saw something familiar. There was something on his stomach, but it was covered by his shirt. She grabbed a stick from nearby and lifted his shirt. He had an 'AL' carved by a knife on his stomach. 

Mia knew the murderer. It was Alina. She knew because whenever Alina killed someone in the past, that person would have an 'AL' carved somewhere on their body. 

"It's my mom." She whispered.

"What do you mean?" Jake asked.

"My mom killed him. She is back." Mia said. Just then, she had terrible pain in her head and she fell due to the pain. Memories of her mother telling her not to cut her hair came flooding back into her head.

"Mia are you okay?" Jake asked as he crouched beside her.

"Jake, I have to cut my hair," Mia said as she got up.

"What are you talking about?!" He asked.

"Jake, this is the only way I can stop her. I have to cut my hair." Mia explained.

"If you say so," Jake said and the two ran out of the house and into a salon. Mia had long hair down till her wait but now she cut it short to her shoulder.

Investigation on Mr. Brown's case was on at full speed. But the police were not able to find a shred of single evidence or clue as to who killed him. 

Everyone was interrogated, even Mia. She kept telling them it was her mother but no one believed her, except Jake.

After about 3 weeks, the case was closed. No evidence or criminal was found. There was no clue. Nothing that could even lead us one percent to who the criminal was. 

Mrs. Brown was crushed. There was a funeral for him and Jake, Charlie, Mia, and Michael attended it and stayed till the end to emotionally support Mrs. Brown. 

There was something that no one knew. Jake and Mia were secretly looking for Alina. Mia was a hundred percent sure that she was not dead.
