It had been 2 years since Alina's death. Alan's mental condition had been getting worse day by day. He would break a lot of stuff every day. Mia started growing scared of Alan. He would even beat her up from time to time. Mia had a lot of bruises on her hands and legs.

Mia was 16 years old now so she understood everything that happened with her dad. She was really worried about him.

Mia had a guy in her class whom she liked, every time she tried to talk to him, she would feel like her mother is looking at her and she would just stop mid-sentence and run away. Deep down Mia knew that her mother is not dead but she never bothered to think about it carefully.

One day when Mia returned home from school, she immediately announced her arrival. Every day when she would return home from school she would do this and her dad would come to the door and ask her about her day. His mood would change the moment the moon would start to show. He would only beat her up at dusk. She liked it when her father was good to her so she tried her best to cherish every moment of it since she knew he would turn into a ruthless person later the same day.

This time, her arrival wasn't followed by her father approaching her. She wondered what had happened but she shrugged it off and went to look for her dad. She went to the kitchen to see no one there, the living room, and then finally upstairs, to Alan's room.

As she reached his room, what she saw was something she wished she didn't see.

She saw her father lying on the floor, lifeless with a piece of glass in his hand and blood oozing out of his wrist.

"DAD!!!" She shouted as she ran to her father's lifeless body.

She couldn't think straight. She immediately grabbed her phone from her pocket and called the ambulance.

It arrived about 5 minutes later. She ran to the main door and guided them in. They put Alan's body on a stretcher and took him to the ambulance. Mia went with them.

Alan was immediately taken to the operation room and Mia was instructed to wait outside. After an average of 3 hours, the doctor finally came out of the operation room.

"Ms. Mia?" He said as he removed his gloves.

Mia quickly rushed to him

"How is he?" She asked.

"I am sorry we couldn't save him. He had already lost a lot of blood when he was brought to the hospital." He said as he patted Mia's shoulder with sympathy.

She was devastated. She started crying. The doctor helped her sit down.

She sat there crying for god knows how long. She couldn't digest the fact that she was an orphan now. She was already really sad about her father's death and now she had many questions going on in her mind. She wondered what she will do now, how was she supposed to live without her parents.

Suddenly she heard a voice near her.

"What are you thinking? Your father has left you a whole castle, why do you even care if you have us or not?" It was Alina.

"What do you mean? Wait aren't you dead?" Mia asked.

"You have so much money to yourself now. Use it for whatever you want." Alina replied, getting a little annoyed. "Are you really my daughter, I can't believe I have to explain all of this stuff to you. Use the money, Mia."

Mia was starting to get angry.

"Do you think I am like you, using people?!" Mia replied.

"Mia, whatever you say you are related to me by blood, you will eventually do what I tell you to, after all, you are my little daughter." She spoke in a tone that gave Mia goosebumps. "You will eventually follow my footsteps."

"I won't!! Never!!" Mia shouted as she ran out of the hospital.

That's it for the second chapter.
