Athena's POV-
I sat on the couch looking at the "pack" in front of me. It's been about 10 minutes since they told me what they are and what I am to them. An imprint. A soul mate. I don't know what to say. I mean I assumed there was other kinds of supernatural beings out there, other than mermaids but I didn't think they would be a big version of a dog.
Well a wolf, but to me it's kind of the same thing. Fluffy fur? Check. Cute face? Check. Wet dog smell? Check. Barking? Check. I mean they hit all the boxes. I look up to see them looking at me, that's when I realize I haven't said anything in like 15 minutes.
"So, you're telling me that you turn into giant dogs and I'm your soul mate who you're supposed to love and be with forever? Did I get that right?" I ask them with a small grin on my face. I'm feeling more comfortable around them knowing they won't hurt me. Even if their muscles look like they could crush me with one hand.
"Pretty much yes, but an imprint could be anything. A brother/sister bond, best friends, a companion. It's whatever the imprint wants." Sam reply's to my question.
I nod my head and look at them all. "It will take some time getting used to but I wouldn't mind having whatever this could be. I just need some time to think and see where this goes" I say to all of them.
"Great! You can take as much time as you need! But you don't mind if we ask you some things do you? I mean we found you naked alone in the woods. It's kind of odd don't you think?" Leah asks. I was kind of surprised she was the one that spoke seeing as this is the first time she's made herself known. I guess if I'm going to stay here and get to know them, they should get to know me. It's just weird. I haven't spoken to anybody about that day. I don't even know where to start.
"I don't mind, I mean if I were you, I would have questions as well. I'm going to tell you what happened to get me here because it's not a topic I like to talk about and would like to do it only once." I say to them in a serious tone. They don't say anything, they just nod waiting for me to continue.
"I've been alone since I was 12. My parents went missing 5 days after my birthday. I don't know where they went or why. I just knew that when I woke up, they were gone. I had no other family to go to, no friends to stay with. So I took the necklace my mother and father got me for my birthday and I left. I transformed and I-" I was saying before Paul interrupted me.
"What do you mean transformed? You're not human? I mean you smell a bit different but still human" Paul asks in a rushed tone.
"Well I was getting there until you rudely interrupted me. Just stop talking and listen!" I told Paul in a fiercer tone before continuing my story.
"As I was saying, I transformed into what my mother used to say "siren" form. My tail was black unlike others of our kind so they thought maybe I would turn out to be a siren when I hit full age maturity. I'm not, I just have the tail of one I guess. So if you haven't figured it out by now, I'm a mermaid. I was born in the sea but lived on land for the longest part of my life. My father and mother thought I would be safer and would have a more normal life on land and I did. Until they left. I had no other choice but to go into the water. People would soon notice my parents didn't live there with me anymore. It was easier to run away rather than staying. So for 5 years I stayed in the water going to many different places. A storm came by, a big one. Swept me back and fourth, I tried finding somewhere to wait it out but I was knocked unconscious before I could do anything. I woke up on a beach, I saw my tail and fin were hurt so I went back into my human form and again passed out in the woods looking for somewhere to heal and here I am" I finish my story with a breath.
They all just look at me, each with different expressions. Quil was first to snap out of it.
"A mermaid. You're a mermaid? Our mate is half fish." He says in a weird tone. Shock maybe?
"Yes a mermaid. Man for people who turn into wolfs, you would think you'd be faster at this." I say with a small laugh.
"You can't blame us. This is new, we've never heard of mermaids being real. There's nothing in the legends about them." Jared says to me. I nod, seeing his point. I don't even bother asking about the legends. I have too much in my brain right now. I let out a yawn and start to blush at how loud it was.
"Sorry. Do you think we can maybe talk about this later? I'm actually really tired." I ask them but looking at Sam and Emily.
"Of course! We can continue this when you're better." Sam says to me as they all stand up.
"Well I guess I'll see you later then. Thank you for being patent with my story. Well except you Paul." I reply and start walking up the stairs for the billionth time today. I reach the room I'm staying in and laid down on the bed. It took no time for me to fall asleep. I didn't notice how tired I really was.
3rd person POV
The Uley pack stands there and absorbs what they were just told. "So we share a mate. How exciting huh?" Seth says with a cute smile.
"How will this work? It's not like we can date her all at once." Jared chimes in.
"Why not? I mean what if we took turns? If we want to do something with Athena alone then we can ask each other for permission. We just have to live in sync from now on. She's our main priority. Whatever makes her happy, makes me happy" Jacob says, finally speaking up.
The others seem to agree with his statement. They all silently agree to share the beautiful mermaid.
"So does that mean we can start now? Because I call cuddling with her first!" Seth says running towards the stairs.
"NO!" The rest of the pack says running after him. Well all except Sam and Emily who were shaking their heads at the pack. Not wanting him to be the one who gets to sleep next to her first they try to tackle Seth, no luck.
And that's how 6 guys and 1 female shifter end up asleep on the floor of a spare bedroom, that now belongs to their mate.
