3rd person POV-
Athena decided to take a walk to get away from the guys for a while, they weren't very happy about it seeing as Victoria was still a threat, she ignored them. She wanted to smell the fresh air again and hear the sounds of the leaves crunching under her feet. It wasn't a sound she heard in the ocean, so it felt freeing to her. Athena could feel something inside of her changing, like electricity flowing throughout her body.
It worries the pack, the energy around her felt different, less innocent and safe. More chaotic. They felt drawn to her almost more so than usual. As if they needed to listen to her every word and follow through with things she says. Some may call them whipped, and some may call them trapped. It's a different perspective for each person I suppose. They haven't brought it up to her, I mean why make a big deal out of something that may not be real? The pack has been on edge lately with the vampire threats going around, so they decided to let go of the odd feeling they had about Athena's new aura.
As Athena gets farther into the woods, a piece of floating color catches her eye, it's a blue butterfly. Athena's eyes widen a bit, excited at the sight of the beautiful creature. She immediately walks toward it, following as it flys away. Soon enough she comes across a stream, she watches as the butterfly goes on the other side of the forest. She looks down at a high rock in between the two pieces of land. Making her final decision, she carefully leaps onto the rock. She lets out a shaky breath as she feels the rock move slightly.
Athena stands cautiously before jumping to the other side. She lands with a soft groan leaving her lips as she falls forward, getting back up she wipes off her knees from the grass and dirt. Looking around she faintly spots the spot of blue ahead of her. Gently running to catch up, she sees it more clearly now. The butterfly is resting in a fallen tree branch, the blue of its wings standing out against the green and brown forest that it was surrounded by.
Athena sits across from it on a log, the look in her eye changes from fascination to stunned when the butterfly flutters over and lands on her hand. She lifts her hand in awe, she brings her hand up to eye level, just looking at the creature on her hand. She lets out a soft laugh out of disbelief, feeling nothing but pure happiness.
The moment was cut short when she heard a twig snap from behind her, she heart races as her thoughts go straight to Victoria. The butterfly flys away at the feeling of Athena moving. Athena looks at where the sound comes from and sees two people standing side by side, a male and a female.
"What are you doing here in the woods alone?" The buff looking man asks. "I was just exploring. Don't worry I was just leaving." Athena said in a nervous tone, moving just slightly backwards.
"You don't have to be nervous, we were just curious as to why a wolf would be on our side of the land." The man talks again, making the woman next to him scoff at his statement. The girl should be scared, she doesn't belong here. At his words it sinking in to Athena, that they had to be vampires. It was obvious, the pale skin and golden eyes that the pack had described to her. She relaxed slightly at the realization that they don't hurt humans. Even if she wasn't fully human herself.
"You must be the Cullens, my name is Athena. I didn't know that I wasn't allowed on this side. I'm not a wolf. I'm sorry if I broke a rule you have with the pack. I'll leave now I promise." Athena says, trying to fix the situation.
"If you aren't a wolf then why do you smell so strongly of one? You smell more than just a human who was around the mutts." The girl finally speaks up, though Athena wishes she didn't due to the tone in the blondes voice.
"I don't think I'm really allowed to say, I wasn't really given the full run down on how things work here. Just what to look out for and where not to go. Even if I did kind of ignore the last one." Athena says sheepishly. She watches as the two vampires look at each other, almost like they were wordlessly communicating.
"Our father would like to speak with you, if you know about us then you're now our business. You need to know that you aren't really allowed here." The guy says, I wish they would tell me their names.
"I'm not so sure about that. I mean I can just ask the guys and Leah when I get back, I don't think they'd like me meeting anyone without one of them with me." Athena says more nervously, she didn't really want to meet the rest of them, the two she has met don't seem to like her very much.
"You know about our secret, so you'll eventually meet our family but I understand your hesitance. I'm Emmett and this is my wife Rosalie" Emmett says with a small smile on his face as he introduced his wife.
"You already know my name but it's nice to meet you both." Athena states, not fully meaning the words she said.
Authors note-
Nice to see you guys after 3 years... sorry it's been so long. This is most likely the last chapter I'm going to upload, but who knows maybe one day I'll pick up writing again. Time will tell I guess. Thank you for reading and enjoying this book, it still shocks me every day that real people in the world read something that I wrote. Much love to you all. Please enjoy this chapter that 18 year old me wrote two years ago and forgot about.💕
