What Now?

Chapter 19

"Are you two going to stay outside and undress each other with your eyes or are you going to come inside and not scar everyone with whatever is going to happen next?" Kol shouted from a balcony above them.

Klaus and Caroline glanced up at him and saw Hope, Josie and Lizzie giggling beside him. They both rolled their eyes and followed Davina into the house. It was very dark outside and when they walked through the door the house was almost shockingly bright and inviting.

They walked into and entryway that was very cozy. It was a small room with light tan tile on the floor and the walls were the same color. There was a grand chandelier with large diamonds on it. The walls had 2 huge beautiful landscapes on them and there was a white Persian rug beneath their feet.

As they continued on they saw a huge room with an imperial staircase right in the middle of it. The room was very open. There were several off-white couches scattered through the room in little sitting areas and large pieces of art scattered throughout the room. Then off towards their right where was a very large dining table with 10 chairs around it.

"To the right through that door is the kitchen. That door across the room is an office and the door next to that is a bathroom. Mine and Kol's bedroom is on the other side of the staircase. To the left here is the living room through that doorway and there's a game room slash man cave thing attached to it. Upstairs are all the rooms. Patti's room is at the very top of the stairs across from where the stairs meet. The girls' rooms are to the right and they each have their own room. You two will be to the left of the stairs. We put you on that side so you won't be kept awake by the giggling and loud teenage gossip. There is a room in between the two of yours that has a little sitting area and a desk in case you need to do any work. Each bedroom has a closet and an en-suite bathroom. Any questions?"

Suddenly Kol appeared next to Davina and brought along a gust of wind. "Well Nik will be tickled pink to be so close to Caroline, darling. And away from the children? I bet he's so excited!"

Caroline chuckled forgetting how cheeky Kol could be and Klaus sent him a death stare.

"Calm down, Nik. Obviously she knows you're obsessed with her. I don't think she'd be here if she didn't fancy that about you. Come with me, let me show you my new liquor haul I've ordered." Kol said as he was pulling Klaus away from the women.

Klaus and Caroline exchange soft smiles as Klaus was forced away from her.

"You two have a lot of history, huh?" Davina smiled as she began walking to one of the various couches throughout the large room.

"Yes, but not the normal history that you'd think." Caroline answered as she sat down in the couch across from Davina.

"Is anything ever normal with the Mikaelsons?" they both chuckled.

"Kol told me that Klaus has been into you for a while. On top of that I can tell. He looks at you with such intensity. You know, I've seen Klaus in love one time and he never looked at her that way. He would do anything for you, wouldn't he?"

Caroline hesitated for a moment. "Yeah. He always has."

"Does that scare you?"

"What do you mean?"

"I just mean it's Klaus Mikaelson. There is a reason he's called the big bad wolf and why so many people are afraid of him."

"Are you? Afraid of him, I mean."

"No. Well, maybe. I've taken him on before and I know Kol has my back, but sometimes he's a little impulsive."

"Yeah, tell me about it. Once he bit me to get back at my ex boyfriend, and then when I found him a couple of years ago he was murdering everyone on his enemy list for Elijah and let's not forget how he sacrificed himself!"
