Guys thank you so much for over 3k reads. I never would have imagined that this would happen. I absolutely ecstatic!!
Y/N's POV
Happy had not parked one or two blocks away from school, but he had parked five blocks away. "Extra precaution" he said. I'm not complaining though. The walk was pretty and it was nice change of pace, but it might be a little difficult when it starts getting cold.
"Hey Happy! Let's get moving, I have a mountain of homework to do. Can we get icecream on the way home?" I asked as I hopped into the back of the limo
"Sure, mint chocolate chip, large waffle cone? We have to hurry though becuase remember your dad wants you home by 3:30 and its 3:20 now."
(Ice cream idea)
"Ok, sweet! Thanks Happy!"
We arrived right on time. This had been the best day of my life. Real school, real people, new friends, new classes, amazing ice cream, but now back to my reality.
"Hey Steve, I'm home?" I said as I walked in, kicked off my shoes, and came in the kitchen. I didn't hear anyone. With the avengers you never know if they are out saving the world or microwaving leftover spaghetti from 2 weeks ago.
"Hey Birdie, sorry about the mess." he muttered burried underneath the contents of the cabinet below the sink.
Steve has called me Birdie ever since I was little because he said I was always flitting around the house humming some tune. As time went on the name kinda caught on with the other avengers, I mean...except dad, of course. He always just called me kid.
"Yo, what happened? Looks like a world war happened in here."
"Maybe not world war but maybe a cival war. Quill came to visit...and well you know...him and Thor kinda got into it."
"And I am the one who clearly prevailed over Mr. baby voice." Thor exclaimed as he walked in the room. "How was school Y/N?"
"It was amazing. Happy even bought me icecream after. Where's dad?" Why did I ask that...I knew where he was, his lab...maybe I was just hoping that some day it would be different.
"Office. Hasn't come out all day," Thor stated matter or factly.
"Hey Thor, if you are done touting your greatness and superiority over Quill, can you come and help me fix the faucet YOU broke." Steve said, clearly annoyed.
"Well, I merely bumped it. It it not I who should be to blame for the faucets breaking, but the structural integrity of the faucet so the ultimately the manufacturer that should be in question. In any case though, I shall be of assistance."
Somehow I knew that something bad was bound to happen, so I hurried up to my room to avoid being the one to blame for not supervising properly.
It had been a long day and all I wanted to do was just lay down on my fluffy king sized bed, but I had homework.
"Hey Jarvis! Would you mind playing jazz music. Maybe some Billie Holiday?"
"Yes ma'am"
I plopped down at my desk and plowed through my homework. Surprisingly I got it done it only two hours.
All of the sudden I heard a screech, the sound of gushing water, and Steve and Thor yelling. Obviously they must have broken a water pipe. After a while though, everything went silent, except for the water.
"Odd...it doesn't sound like they fixed it" I said to myself. Then I heard my dad's animated voice, something about some people being idiots, and shortly after the sound of water stopped.
The commotion must have awakened my dad from his lab and back into the real world. I was about to change into some comfy clothes and jump in my bed and watch The 100 on Netflix, when I heard my dad say my name.
"Hey Friday. Turn on the mic from downstairs in the kitchen so I can hear what they are saying."
"Yes ma'am"
(Intercom)
How did Y/N say school went?""She said it was good, she met some people, and that she was asked to hang out after school" Steve said.
"Absolutely not. There are too many dangers and she has no powers and no way to defend herself. She-..."
"Friday just turn it off" I yelled
I couldn't stand it any longer. I turned myself into a shadow and crept downstairs.
When I got downstairs Dad was still bashing me and I just wanted to shut him up. Because no one could see me since I was just a shadow, I quietly crept over the the temporarily fixed faucet where Dad had turned the water off. I turned the water back on so that it would spray right in the dad's face.
Mission accomplished.
I quietly crept over to the hallway coming into the kitchen, about to make my entrance from there so there wasn't any suspicion that I had anything to do with the water.
"Funny coincidence. You're talking smack about me so in turn the universe finds a way to shut you up. Classic."

Funny how my dad thinks I don't have any powers, its his fault why i have powers in the first place. To be honest though I don't think anybody knows. Maybe because my powers basically turn me invisible without invisibility power's weaknesses, making my stealth mode essentially flawless. That might be why my dad never seems to see me...Hey guys! I hope you are enjoying the story thus far. The next chapter will be dedicated to explaining Y/N's power so its less confusing. I know what I want to tell you about her power but I need a whole chapter to explain it and the backstory. I may publish two chapter tomorrow. Luv you guys!
