The Mighty Manticore

Ottava Parte

It has been weeks since the Manticore's arm tragedy happened and now he, and Maveron, has set off to Cecamon Island to get the little girl back from those Barbarians, and while the Manticore doesn't know it, Maveron has a secret agenda gained from his meeting with the northern vikings...

"Ok then, if we head directly southeast from Nevar, we should get to the Cecamon's Mareo Squali... Sea of Sharks, great we need to be careful of the land AND sea" Maveron carefully explained to Alan

"Well, it's better than our usual shit of "winging it" and possibly getting another limb loss, hey! Maybe you can lose one too and we can be metal bros!" The Manticore happily said

"Ehh I guess that'll be cool, but ONLY if I had an accident or an actual injury in battle and not some bullshit thing like you ripping it out for fun, I see that glint in your eye" said Maveron

"No! Of course not... Maybe" said the Manticore as they leave the borders of the Kingdom of Layenteva and on they go to the Cecamon Island

As they fly over the shark-infested seas of Cecamon, the Manticore spotted 14 men roaming the border of the shores. They have to land somewhere high and very inconspicuous. Maveron spotted a big oak tree and the Manticore agreed to land there

"Ugh, great. There's too many guarding each other with horns, probably warning horns, on their person, annoying" the Manticore says as he growls while Maveron was busy scoping out the surroundings and he found a big hut that he suspected housed the little girl

"Hey! Look over there. There seems to be a lot of long-haired people in that hut, the girl must be there" says Maveron, and the Manticore took a closer look and he nodded at Maveron, signaling that the girl is indeed in there, he went back to get Maveron, while carefully avoiding the barbarian guards

"Ok, it seems that- they're talking to someone with a weird-ass looking helmet with... no horns and instead a bunch of feathers, which is weird for a barbarian" says the Manticore

Inside, the chief of the barbarians, Chief Goronaka, a young woman, was speaking to a lot of captured little girls "I'll tell you all this one more time. There is no escape, all you do and need to do is give birth to the new generation of the Gondo tribesmen and obey my brother, Gorboro. Is that really too much to ask?"

"We won't!" says a little girl in blue, Goronaka went closer to her and stabbed her cheeks

"Really? All I ask is for some cooperation, I don't really want to hurt anyone" then Goronaka goes closer to the girl and says "But if that's what it takes to be recognize by my damn family, then I will" Goronaka answered. Suddenly, a drunk barbarian went in the hut and reported to the woman chief

"Hay- arg- en- torrr" says the drunk

"What do you want, Gonok?" asks Goronaka

"I smeleth with my little noose, two intruders entered our campa!" Gonok replies

This alarmed Goronaka, while Maveron was thinking of a plan, he and the Manticore had to fly off whilst Goronaka calls her men to her tent. "Can you pick them off one by one without getting them to throw their axes at you?" asks Maveron

The Manticore looks at the barbarians, "Think so, I'll land you on the beach and you can pick 'em off one by one with this bow and arrows Thomas gave me" the Manticore explained

"But I don't how to, ahhh" Maveron was cut off and was about to say he doesn't know in the slightest how to use a bow, but Alan left him anyway

The Manticore flew straight to Goronaka's hut and destroyed it, releasing the little girl prisoners, while, Maveron was making headshots, it seems that his talent is archery... then he misses, maybe not. Goronaka ordered her men to throw their axes high and ordered her warrior women siblings to find the archer, Maveron. Maveron saw the incoming horde of women and immediately hid in the bushes, and the Manticore was flying high in the air dodging every axes that the barbarians throw at him. Maveron kept going to one bush to another, a tree to the next and Alan kept on dodging the axes, this went on for hours until Maveron saw an opportunity and killed one of the warrior women and Alan gathered some guts and flew in the many axe-wielders, he managed to kill five in one swoop and he landed to face the barbarians, he managed to grab two barbarians and smashed their heads together, scaring the other barbarians away. Meanwhile, Maveron was picking the warrior women one by one until two were left, the two most capable and at the same time most relentless and smart. Maveron couldn't do anything as he manned and outskilled, he was captured with a big open wound on his chest the warrior women says was payback, for now, for killed their sisters. The Manticore managed to kill all the barbarians and was shocked when he saw Maveron being dragged by two women.

The Manticore landed near them and said "Let him go, NOW!" he says ferociously, but was tackled by two barbarians

"Stay down, monster!" Gonok yells.

"Aghhhh, get off of me! And you two, I'm not gonna say this the third time, LET... HIM... GO... NOW!!!" The Manticore yells out loud.

Then, suddenly, chief Goronaka entered the frame and says "How about you leave or I kill that skinny freak and these worthless little whores!"

"Please sir, just go!" says one girl

"No! Please don't! Kill them and free us, please!" says another girl

"Well, it seems we're at a stale mate, "women chief". Maveron over there is ready to die for these girls, that's why we're here. So, since you're you have more to lose and haha had lost more than we have, which is none, I think this is good deal... let them go" The Manticore said with a confident look on his face

"Wait, what!?! Wait a second, I'm not ready to die, I want to save them yes but I don't want to die, Alan!" Maveron shouted to the Manticore

"Oh you idiot!" The Manticore whispered, "I know you don't actually want to die, I was bluffing, you idiot!"

"... Ohh, sorry!" Maveron yells to Alan, then he gets pushed and pinned to the ground.

"Ughh, ok, ok. Can you at least tell me why do you even have your barbaric males kidnap little girls?" The Manticore asked Goronaka

"I am Chief Goronaka of the nomadibarbarians, daughtress of the living legend, Ortroko, and sibling to the mighty Gorboro of the south. We need more people in our new nation at south of the great icelands, these women are suppose to be my tribute, birthwomen for my brother to show and prove to him and everyone that I am a capable chief, myself!" Chief Goronaka  explained.

"Prove? Well, in my opinion you don't need to prove anything, you seem pretty capable enough if you got these many girls in what, a month? Without any of the world guardians noticing? Pretty capable in my opinion" asked Alan

"Two months, but I'm counting the days that we rested so more like one and half" answered Goronaka, "But I still need to prove to my family that I am worth something"

"One and a half, with 1, 5, 10... 23 girls!? I don't think you really need your family to say your worth anything, I think they're stupid, greedy and I don't believe they're the people you should be impressing, lady. I'm just here to rescue the white hooded girl and maybe some of those girls who also wants to go home" Alan says

"Uhm, but my- they're ugh..." Goronaka had no words

"They're nothing to you if they need you to be someone they want, be someone YOU want" Alan says, then he reaches out his hand, "Now can we please release our "captives" and have a drink at your nice-lookin' house you got there, and maybe also get those chains off of those girls, eh?" Alan offering a truce to Goronaka

"... let him go!" Chief Goronaka yells to her warriors, then they did "Well? Come on, let's go have that drink then"

Then they all headed to eating hall and they ate burnt ram, drank rum and were left in awe at the dancing skills of the little girls who actually wanted to stay. But they are still those who gave Alan the mean look as they did not forgave him easily for killing their brethren and non did not, especially, forgave Maveron for killing half their warrior women... then all of a sudden Maveron picked up his bow... and shot Alan in the back 10 times knocking him on the ground...
