It only took a couple of days until I was back on my feet and ready for school. It turns out I had some kind of stomach bug according to the doctor. I still hadn't forgotten Alec coming into my room and looking after me. Placing a cold wet cloth of me and staying by my side. I even remember holding his hand even though I was half asleep. He was the reason I hadn't gone to school (besides the bug) and yet there he was in my room acting like nothing happened. I had no idea what was going to happen between us.

Would things be awkward? Would we be friends or still act like we were bipolar?

I was dreading the day I had to go back. I was looking forward to seeing Jazz and Jodie but other than that I wanted to avoid school at any cost.

"LEA GET UP OR YOU'LL BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!" my mum yelled.

Groaning I slumped out of bed and made my way to the bathroom. I splashed some cold water on my face which instantly woke me up. I let my hair flow out giving it a few curls with my curler and a dab of makeup.

I need to look like I hadn't just been ill and looking like ghost.

I picked out a grey jumper with a heart on it, black skinny jeans with a pair of grey converse and a cream coloured knitted hat. I made my way downstairs and grabbed an apple before grabbing my coat and walking out the door.

Jazz unfortunately didn't know I was coming to school so I had no-one to give me a ride. I started my long journey to school whilst eating my apple. I was about 5 minutes away from my house when I heard a beeped coming from a nearby car. The owner of the car rolled down its window and my heart thudded to a stop.

Alec was leaning back in his leather seat smirking.

"Need a ride daffodil?" he asked.

"N-no it's fine I'm gonna walk, I need some fresh air anyways," I stuttered.

"It's a half an hour walk and you have 15 minutes to get to school. Just get in the car unless you wanna be late to school," he smirked even wider.

I was stumped. I got in the car not saying another word. He sped off still smirking his arse off.

The first few minutes were an awkward silence with only the hum of the engine to keep us company. Alec was the first one to break the silence.

"How are you feeling?" he asked before clearing his throat.

"Better thanks," I mumbled. "Thanks to you."

He said nothing but his shocked looked told me he heard me.

Finally he answered, "How did you know about that?"

"I may have been half asleep Alec but I knew it was you," I said blushing slightly.

"How? Your eyes were closed."

"I heard my mum talking to you. I pretended to be asleep when you came into my room but then I really did fall asleep," I laughed a little at the end.

Alec chuckled along with me.

"I didn't really have a choice considering your mum practically begged me to look after you," he teased.

I bumped his shoulder, "You always have a choice Alec and you chose to look after me."

He seemed to be lost for words; I smirked slightly.

We drove in silence for a little bit more, neither or us bothering to make conversation.

"I'm sorry," he blurted out making me jump.

"What?"

"I'm sorry. I feel like I'm the reason you had to go home. I shouldn't have butted in."
