“Can you describe in detail what you saw?” a policeman asked taking out his notepad.

I was currently still in the field where the fight had taken place and it was late in the evening. Most of the people had scattered when they heard the police sirens. Only a few of us had been questioned by the police on what had happened including me and Nathan. Alec had been taken into custody whilst the boy he had been fighting was taken to the hospital. Alec had done more damage to him than he had done to Alec.

“Um all I saw was them both fighting. Both of them scrambling on the ground, punching each other, kicking.”

He scribbled down on his notepad nodding, “Do you know what the fight as about?”

“Something about the boy’s sister, Alec had angered him in some way concerning his sister.” I replied shifting from one foot to the other.

The police officer in front of me looked quite young with pale grey eyes, blonde hair with a slight stubble on his face and a slightly built muscular figure. He looked around in his early twenties.

“Okay. Who challenged who?”

“The boy challenged Alec, I don’t know his name.” I said.

“And before any of this happen had you met the challenger before?” he asked, staring at me.

“We spoke before the fight when he asked me for directions to the school,” I said. “That isn’t bad is it?” I was getting slightly panicked.

“Did you know why he wanted directions?” he asked ignoring my previous question.

“No.” I replied bluntly.

“Okay. No further questions you can go home, thank you for your contributions,” he said before walking away.

I stood there, hugging myself. How did things come to this?

I still remember the screams and cheers from the crowd as the two boys fought with each other. After Alec threw the first punch there was no way me and Nathan could stop the fight. We just had to stand there in horror as both of them threw punches, hitting and breaking bones in the process. Alec clearly had the upper hand as he was light on his feet and like Nathan had said he did have skills.

When did he learn those?

I shudder as I remember the bones cracking and breaking as Alec punched the boy’s nose, obviously breaking it. Alec knocked the boy out and that’s when the teachers came flooding out and that’s when we heard the sirens. Everyone fled as soon as the heard them. I would’ve joined them but a teacher grabbed my shoulder stopping me from leaving and them same went for Nathan. We had to wait for the police to question us. An ambulance came to take the boy away and clean up Alec a little bit before the police took him away.

I saw a police officer talking to Nathan, he seemed pissed with his fists clenched. Once the police officer had gone I walked over to where Nathan was standing.
