"It can't be"

The bartender rushed from behind the bar and kneeled down in front of me and Harry. He held our faces before inspecting us thoroughly as though we'd met before but hadn't spoken in years. I shifted uncomfortably as I looked anywhere but the bartender. "The Potter boys in MY pub"

The sound of scraping chairs and muttering got louder after he said that as people got up and closer to see if it was true. Soon they had gathered in a line behind each other. Pushing and shoving, like school children would, as they hoped for a closer look. They came in turns, shaking our hands and introducing themselves.

"Doris Crockford, can't believe I'm meeting you both at last"

"Delighted, Diggles the name, Dedalus Diggle."

A flash of recognition came over Harry's face. "You bowed to me in a shop once right?"

The man in front of us, still shaking our hands, looked as if he was about to faint as he beamed up at Harry. "He remembers!"

Harry just smiled as he walked off and next in like was a pale nervous young man. "Proffesor Quirrel, nice to see yer 'ere. Boys this is yer defence against the dark arts teacher at 'ogwarts"

"N-not that you need it eh boys?" He laughed to himself while I just put on an awkward smile. "I-I suppose you've come to get your equipment? I-I've come to get a book about vampires for myself"

He shudders at the thought and Hagrid interrupts him "Right off we go, let's ter buy" He leads us past the bar and into a small courtyard where there was nothing but a bin and a small tangle of weeds. "Right then, three up, two across... stand back"

I stepped back and watched as the bricks began to fold in on themselves and almost disappear. I was mesmerised by it and I'm guessing Harry was too because all his questioning seemed to die down. I must have been daydreaming for a little while because when I snapped back to reality, the wall was gone and Hagrid and Harry were making they're way through it. I followed them in and before long my jaw dropped in awe. Rows of shops on either side seemed to never stop. They were selling different things. From icecream to cauldrons and books to brooms.

I composed myself whereas Harry wanted to look in every store and darted from side to side. "You'll be needin all of this but yer can't get it without yer money"

That's when I saw it. A massive building made out of what looked like quarts. The doors were way taller than Hagrid and that surprised me a little to know there were people or things bigger than him. We walked in through the first pair of doors only to find another pair of doors. I frowned before realising there was an inscription on it.

Enter, stranger, but take heed

Of what awaits the sin of greed,

For those who take, but do not earn,

Must pay most dearly in their turn.

So if you seek beneath our floors

A treasure that was never yours,

Thief, you have been warned,
beware

Of finding more than treasure there.

I shuddered at the last message before catching up to Hagrid and Harry. We walk straight in and past two rows of goblins either side of us. We stopped just in front of a higher up desk with one goblin station in front of what looked like the entrance. "We want some money taken out the Potter's safe"

"Do you have they're key sir?" The goblin leaned over to inspect me and his gaze weighed me down. He changed his focus to Harry and I let out a little breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Er, yes I do 'ave it round 'ere somewhere". Hagrid started pulling his pockets out and emptying the contents onto the goblins desk. He didn't look to happy about it however he didn't say anything to Hagrid about stopping. "Aha" Hagrid mumbled as he pulled out an old fashioned golden key and placed it on the desk. He scooped the pockets content back into one pocket as the Goblin examined the key. "Yes, very well, follow me"

I went around the desk to find the goblin in front of the gate. When everyone was stood there he placed his hand on it and it swung open, letting us in. As we were getting into this minecart looking thing Hagrid remembered something. "Oh right I'm 'ere on 'ogwarts business too. Got a letter from Dumbledore and I need to get to vault seven hundred and thirteen. The goblin only nodded and pulled a lever as soon as everyone sat down. We launched across the tracks and my stomach did a little twirl as I slapped my arm around my waist. "Oh god" I move my other hand over my mouth to stop anything from coming up if it does.

Soon enough we're standing in front of our vault (after going to 713 but I don't need to explain that). The goblin takes the key and places it in the lock. Twisting it right. I look up as a noise from the top sounds. Hundreds of bolts slither away from each other, slowly unlocking the door before it swings open. My eyes widen as piles and piles of gold, silver and bronze lay across the floor. "Oh hello there" Harry says as he walks towards it. Hagrid stops him and hands him a small money pouch and does the same with me "You don't need a lot just grab an 'andful of the gold ones"

I nod and go in before grabbing a couple handfuls to fill my bag up while Harry looks a little sad that his bag isn't bigger. I roll my eyes before making my way back to Hagrid and we all get back on the Minecart. What feels like seconds later, we're on the streets of Diagon Alley with pockets filled with gold and our safe locked up after us.

"Let's get yer uniform shall we?" Hagrid takes us further up the alley, towards more and more shops before standing outside a robe shop. "You two go in there and I'll be back"

He turns and leaves as I look up to read the sign "Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions". I shrugged and lead the way into the shop. The door opens and a little bell sounds somewhere at the back of the shop. "Hogwarts dears?" She asks as Harry starts talking and we both nod before getting pulled over to gwt measured. "Got another boy in here for Hogwarys too don't worry about it"

She smiled and clicked her fingers and in a matter of seconds measuring tapes were flying past me and Harry, calculating our arm length and height and probably a lot more. The boy Madam Malkins was talking about had a very pale and pointed face. He was stood beside me as he started talking. "Hello, Hogwarts too?"

I nodded "Yeah we are" Harry didn't want to make conversation and I started talking to the boy naturally.

"My father's next door buying my books and mother's up the street looking at wands," said the
boy. He had a bored, drawling voice. "Then I'm going to drag them off to look at racing brooms. I don't see why first years can't have their own. I think I'll bully father into getting me one and
I'll smuggle it in somehow."

I nodded "Yeah you'll have to find a way" The tapes stopped whizzing past us and I jumped off the little stool I was on. Madam Malkin came back around "Come back in an hour or so and I'll have your robes stitched up in no time. Can I have your name?"

"Potter" I gave a little smile to the lady and the pale boys jaw dropped. Me and Harry turned to walk outside and Hagrid was standing there giving them a thumbs up. We went to go get icecream. I had a (y/f/i-c) and Harry had chocolate with raspberry sauce.

As I said yesterday I'll be posting an update every day for a week and so far I've kept to that promise :)

I usually never say this but now that people are actually voting for this it's giving me more motivation to continue writing and a few helpful words from "my guy" as he wants me to call him 🤣. I'll continue writing anyways if this doesn't get far as long as I get a couple reads lmao.

Ciao!!
