Warrior Cats- Forest of Roses- Book 1

Chapter 7

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather here beneath the highledge for a clan meeting!" Cloverstar yowled standing on top of the highlege. Everyone hurried out with happy meows.

Petalnose kept grooming at her kits fur. Rosekit frowned, "Mom! I think I look well enough." Petalnose eyes softened. "But you guys need to look perfect." Rosekit rolled her eyes and smiled. 

Tigerkit and Rosekit ran out of the nursery and sat down with their clanmates.

Cloverstar quieted the cats and meowed, "Today we are gathered here for two new apprentices. "Rosekit," Rosekit stood up and walked forward. "you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be know as Rosepaw." Cloverstar looked around at the cats and continued, "Jaysong, you are ready to take an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Redfeet, and you have shown yourself to be strong and fearless. You will be the mentor of Rosepaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Rosepaw." Rosepaw's paws were full of excitement. She rubbed  noses with Jaysong and sat down with him, watching as Cloverstar continued, "Tigerkit, since you do not wanna be a warrior, but take a role of a medicine cat, do you accept the post of apprentice to Honeyseed?" Tigerkit stood up tall. "I do." "Then from this day on, until you receive your medicine cat name, you will be known as Tigerpaw. I hope Honeyseed will pass down all she knows on to you. The good wishes of all Thunderclan will go to you."

"Rosepaw! Tigerpaw!" The clan cheered. Rosepaw was so happy she felt like she could jump to Starclan.

Tigerpaw ran up to Honeyseed and rubbed noses with her. The other two medicine cats, Gingersplash and Echomist, welcomed him.

Rosepaw was glad Echomist was welcomed back to Thunderclan as a medicine cat, but it changed Petalnose a bit. I wonder why? And who were Echomist's two kits?

Rosepaw followed Jaysong around. "What are we gonna learn first?" Jaysong rolled his eyes and laughed. "Rosepaw, it's twilight and I need my rest. I'll show you around the territory tomorrow, so get your sleep." Rosepaw hurried to the apprentice den with excitement. She was gonna see the territory!

When Rosepaw entered her new den, she found Rainpaw and Williowpaw playing around and Mousepaw already asleep. "Welcome Rosepaw!" Rainpaw meowed, his blue eyes glowing. "We made you a nest. It's right next to Mousepaw," Willowpaw greeted. Rosepaw smiled but she ended up yawning. "Well I'm going to hit the nest."

Rosepaw said her goodnight's to Rainpaw and Willowpaw and curled up next to Mousepaw, where her nest was. She fell asleep calmly watching Mousepaw's brown fur raise and fall as he breathed.
