After eating lunch, Diana asked, "Why keep this from me? Couldn't I be trusted?"
"It's not about trust, Di," Andrew replied as he looked at her. "It's about protecting the ones we love. Family and friends."
"Not that it helps much," Jayden muttered with a scowl marring his features. "Purgatory knows our names and the names of our friends and family. We are not strong enough to face him and the next time, he won't hold back the majority of his power."
"Who exactly is Purgatory?" Diana asked.
"No one knows," RJ remarked, getting everyone to look at him. "There are a few rumors about him though. One says that he's a couple of thousand years old and was alive when the Pharaohs were alive and he was considered to be the one known as Set. Another says that he is the incarnation of evil and darkness, that he cannot be killed only trapped. And another says that he is from another dimension. It is your choice to believe whatever you want. I choose to believe in the first rumor."
"How can an Elitist be that old?" Diana asked, confused.
"That I do not know," RJ stated. "But there can only be one reason as to why Purgatory has such mastery over his powers. He is a couple of thousand years old."
"But how can that be?" Diana asked. "He should be dead by now if he was that old."
RJ was silent for a moment as he thought of what to say. On one hand, it would be precious information that only a few people know about and it should stay that way for a while. Because the fewer people know about it, the better. But, on the other hand, his students need to know this. In the end, his rational side won.
"I do not know how he could be that old, Ms. Crescent," RJ replied with a sigh. "But I do know that he is dangerous and you three will need all the training you can get."
The three teens realized that he was keeping things from them. That RJ knew how Purgatory was so old and yet, still alive. But they decided to leave it be for now and go back to the question at a later date.
"What are we going to do about training?" inquired Andrew.
"We can begin anytime you three want to," RJ replied, spreading his arms and hands as if he was a performer on stage. "Even now if you wanted to."
"We have a field trip starting on Tuesday this upcoming week," Jayden replied. "And that field trip will go on for about two or so months. So, I have-"
RJ interrupted him by saying, "Say no more, Jayden. I think I have a plan for that."
"What is it?" Andrew asked as the three teens looked at RJ.
"You'll see," RJ assured with a grin before he walked out of the room.
Turning to her childhood friends, Diana asked, "Is the training going to be hard?"
"For you yes, for us? Most definitely," Andrew assured, paling a little at the thought of training with RJ once more. "But it will keep us alive."
Jayden nodded in agreement.
"It was thanks to his training that I barely managed to survive against Purgatory," Jayden told her.
...............
"Purge," began Tempest as he walked into the library in Bran Castle. "There is something you need to know."
"And what is that little brother?" Purgatory asked whilst he scanned the shelves that were full of scrolls. "I am a little busy brother. Can it not wait until later?"
