Purgatory sighed as he combed through paperwork from the last few weeks. His glowing red eyes narrowed over an interesting report though, and it certainly caught his attention.
"A building full of spirits and the skeletal remains of a council hero with a note that reads, 'I'm back.'," Purgatory read off the report. He set the paper down, a deep frown on his face. "I'll have to see the area they found the remains in, however, if this is all correct, if it is who I think is responsible for this man's death..." Purgatory smirked. "It appears that an old friend has returned from his seventy-seven years of vacation."
Pushing his chair back, Purgatory stood up and calmly walked out of his study. As he did so, Kage walked out of a shadow cast by the light of mounted lamps on the walls of the hallway.
"Did it go well?" Kage asked.
"Morrigan gave me what I needed and then some," Purgatory replied. "However, she also gave me a report that gives me an inkling of terror."
"Why is that?" Kage asked. The two men stopped in the middle of the hall.
"For this man has his hands on the power of a debt that all men pay," was all Purgatory told one of his four Generals.
Kage mouthed the words to himself before his face paled white. Purgatory then left the General in the hallway and headed toward the throne room.
Why now of all times for him to return? Purgatory thought as he sat on the throne. It must be because of the Dark Ancients. He must want to fight... He always was one to rush into things with no regard to planning. Speaking of planning I need people who are cannon fodder to join me just in case we have to fight Osiris. I'd rather not go against a man who can not only kill with a touch, but also can summon ghouls, zombies, and ghosts...
His train of thought was broken by the two large oak doors swinging wide open with a loud bang.
"What is it you want now, Medusa?" Purgatory asked sharply.
Medusa stopped in her tracks. She was going to demand a job, but looking at her employer, at the anger in his eyes, she stopped that line of thought. She may be arrogant, but she knew she was outmatched by the man sitting in front of her.
"Do not make me ask again," Purgatory's tone didn't change.
Swallowing hard, she bowed low, "My lord, are there any jobs that me and my sisters can do while we wait for your plan to come to fruition?"
Her eyes weren't on his face so she didn't see him smirk as he got an idea.
"You and your sisters will be joining me in Berlin," Purgatory told her as he got up. "One of my many informants has sent me a letter and I wish to see it with my own eyes."
Medusa looked up at him, startled, "W-What?"
"You heard me," Purgatory walked towards her. "You and your sisters will be my guard while I am in Berlin. You three will listen to my orders or you will die. Understood?"
Medusa nodded, "Very well, my lord. When will we be going?"
"Within the hour," was Purgatory's response. "You are dismissed."
Medusa nodded and quickly walked out of the throne room.
Meanwhile, Purgatory smelt ozone, and lightning flashed behind him.
"Tempest," Purgatory said without turning around. "How was it?"
"Andrew is strong," Tempest told him. "Of that, there is no doubt. However, I may have gotten RJ more than a little angry."
