The Body (Part 3)

The bell rung, dismissing the students. Soon, most of the people filed out of the gym. But Mike had seen Troy and James walking and he had a bone to pick with them.

"Hey! Hey! Hey, Troy!" Mike caught their attention. They turned around with smug smiles on their faces. El stayed close to Mike to help him out of any trouble while Nikki stayed back with Lucas and Dustin. "You..you think this is funny?"

"What's you say, Wheeler?" Troy squinted at him as if he was daring him to talk back. The little interaction between the two was already enough to turn some heads.

"I saw you guys laughing over there." Mike stammered but still tried to act tough. "And I think that's a real messed up this to do."

"Didn't you listen to the counselor, Wheeler?" James shook his head at him. "Grief shows itself in funny ways."

"Besides, what's there to be sad about, anyway?" Troy sneered. "Will's in fairyland now, right? Flying around with all the other little fairies. All happy and gay!"

The group and the students surrounding them watched as Troy imitated a fairy, dancing around. Nikki had to take a few deep breathes. The fact that she was getting angry and the pit that settled in her stomach had grown worse was not a very good combination for her.

Finally, the boys decided to leave but Mike wasn't done with them. Instead of letting the boys walk away, Mike sped walk over to them and pushed Troy to the ground.

A bunch of exclaims came from the audience as Troy got back on his feet, staring daggers at Mike. "You're dead, Wheeler! Dead!"

Troy started to run up to him but suddenly froze in place. The crowd looked at him, confused. The only people who weren't confused were Nikki and El. The crowd watched as Troy's pant started to get wet making all of the burst out laughing.

"Dude, Troy peed himself." A blonde haired boy announced making everyone laughing harder.

Mike looked back at the girls in awe. El stood there with a bloody nose and smiling at him. Nikki was still with Lucas and Dustin but still seemed completely unfazed by everything going on. El wiped her nose and turned around to leave the gym with Nikki following behind her.

"Hey! What's going on here?" The principal shouted over the laughter.

Lucas ran up to Mike and grabbed him. "Mike! Let's go!"

The crowd quickly disbursed, leaving Troy by himself. Meanwhile, Mike, El, and Nikki were ready to prove to the boys, once and for all that Will is alive.

The group walked into the AV room and Mike turned on the light over the table. "Come on." Mike directed getting everything ready for El.

El sat down while Nikki stood to the left of her. Nikki put her hand on top of El's, this time El didn't move her hand.

"Now what?" Dustin asked walking behind the girls.

"They'll find him." Mike spoke confidently. "Right guys."

They didn't respond. Instead, they closed their eyes and tried to focus.

Nine sat alone an the empty room once again. It had been a few hours since her last test and she failed to do the assignment given to her. She was supposed to kill a cat with her powers but as always, she refused to take an innocent.

She sat in the quiet room, looking at her scrapes she had on her wrists. It was the day after her injection and her wrists being scraped or bruised is not uncommon. Still, I didn't change the fact that it when a certain amount of pressure would make it hurt.

However, her attention was pulled away from her wrists as she heard Eleven's screams getting closer to the door. A few seconds later she was thrown into the room. Only this time, Eleven got up quickly from the floor. So quickly it made Nine nervous about what she was going to do.

Eleven stared at one of the scientists and cocked her head the other way, breaking the guy's neck. Nine stood up quickly as the other guy pulled a gun on her sister. Before she knew it Nine raised her hand, ready to use the power she hated most.

The scientist froze in shock as Nine felt his soul on the palm of her hand. She flipped her palm towards the ceiling and a familiar blue orb appeared representing his soul.

His life was literally within her hands.

She locked eyes with him. His was full of fear as he watched the orb. Hers went from blue to red just like the orb as she crushed the sphere. The scientist dropped to the floor. Dead. Nine's eyes went back to blue as she felt them roll to the back of her head.

She was passed out even before she'd hit the ground.

"They're doing it." Mike's voice pulled Nikki from her flashback. "They're finding him!"

"This is crazy." Dustin said staring at the blue haze that was coming from Nikki's hand.

"Calm down. They just closed their eyes." Lucas shook his head. A second later the light above them went out, leaving them with the blue as their only light.

"Holy." Dustin said looking towards the light above them.

The boys jumped at the sound of clanging coming through the radio. They all leaned in closer to hear what was going on as the clanging got louder.

"What is that?" Dustin asked with worry in his voice.

Mom? Will's voice broke through the receiver.

"No way!" Lucas gasped.

Mom, please. Mom!

"Will!" Mike shouted into the microphone.

"Will, it's us! Are you there?" Lucas yelled over Mike.

"Can you hear us?" Dustin tried to talk to Will. "We're here!"

Hello? Mom?

"Why can't he hear us?" Lucas asked panicked.

"I don't know!" Mike stated.

Mom, it's coming!

"What's coming?" Lucas asked frazzled.

"Demogorgon." Dustin's eyes widened as he whispered the name.

It's like home, but it's so dark...it's so dark and empty. And it's cold!

The boys looked at each other with the same scared faces.

Mom? Mom!

Nikki felt her heart drop at his pleas.

Mom, please!

Light and sparks scared Nikki enough for her to lose her focus and jump back. As she did, a wave of exhaustion hit her and made her go to a pit of darkness.

"Nikki!" Lucas caught her before she hit the floor. Dustin was grabbing the fire extinguisher and putting out the fire. Mike was checking on El, who was awake but didn't have enough energy to respond to him.

Once the fire was out, the boys thought fast and carried the girls out of the room. They found a cart and put both of the girls in it.

Soon they were running down the hallways of the school, trying not to get caught as students were leaving the building.

They left the school with a new hope in their hearts.

Will was alive.
