The next morning was a Saturday. That meant no school. After breakfast, I went to my room and opened up the folder. The papers held very specific information, including the date my mission was to start: April 18, 2015. Wait. April eighteenth was in two weeks! What was I going to do?! I had to ask for a helicopter ride, get a trusted friend and tell them everything, pack stuff.... and what was I going to tell my parents? I was so stressed out. I decided the first thing to do was start packing. So I did.
I packed some food: pop-top cans of fruit (my favorite), energy bars, and two bottles of water. I also packed an extra pair of clothes (just in case), a toothbrush and toothpaste, Who needs toilet paper, I thought. My bookbag was already bulging. Later, I would also bring my phone, in its waterproof case, and its solar charger.
Next, I decided to leave my parents a note:

Dear Mom and Dad, I will be going away for a while. I promise that I will come back. I ♥ you. Don't worry too much.
Birche xoxo
P.S. When Pauline and her dad get back (which will be soon), you can talk to her dad about it. Pauline will not talk, no matter what.
P.P.S I hope it's okay if I miss a few days of school. I am a straight As student, you know.
Sorry
