TW: blood, gore
(Posting chapters whenever I can get them out bc that unmotivated to write grind it don't stop 😫 )

The sky was stained a dark grey, flames rose upwards in the distance as George looked across the wreck of the once city he had lived in. The bitter smell of the smoke made him cough as he reached for his mask in his right jacket pocket. He was isolated from any other living being... but at least not alone. Dead corpses crawled and walked across the city grounds which looked more like landfill. The mask seemed too tight on his face although he wasn't too bothered about it. He was more concerned about the undead nuisances. He had recently ran out of food and would surely starve if he didn't decide to go out. He took a deep breath and reached round his shoulder for his sword holding it in two hands tight as he walked down the destroyed city and the flickering street lights.

As he was approached by one of the zombies, fearfully he slashed it with his sword, deep into its chest. With a gurgled roar it recoiled backwards. George ran onwards out of reach of the dead beings. The supermarket wasn't far, his hopes we're high he'd make it alive. As another zombie crawled over to him, it's fleshy fingers tearing at the rubble, he stuck his sword clean in its head, blood splattered across his pitch black hoodie. He slammed his foot on the dead beings head and pulled his sward out, accidentally almost falling backwards into the rubble. He continued his way to the supermarket, swiftly running from side to side behind the street lights keeping the hooded boy hidden. As he ran forwards, his feet dragging him quickly to the only thing that might keep him alive for longest. Food.

He was stopped dead in his trails as after turning a corner he crashed into Something. Not quite alive but definitely not completely dead. Another one, a tall one followed by several more. He recoiled backwards, dodging the harsh bite of the monster. it's face was torn across, one of its eyes were torn out and it stunk of dead flesh. After all that's what it was. Helplessly George looked around slashing its legs as hard as he could, although it didn't have much affect on the tall being. 𝐍𝐨 𝐧𝐨 𝐧𝐨!! 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩... he raised the sword in the air, the flickers of light catching on the blade as he slashed it in all the way through one of its eyes, taking it clean off. It screamed a gurgled growl in pain.

He stepped back a good few steps seeing the several others creep up towards him, arms outreaches and teeth baring. Georges breath deepened becoming quicker, looking behind him he swore he could have sawn a masked figure but he knew it was just his imagination playing tricks on him as the zombies closed in.
He slashed ones chest and plunged his sword into it although he found he couldn't retrieve it in time for one of the others to grab on his backpack and tug him towards it. Using his right foot he managed to get it back, swiftly turning around and slashing its head off. It fell backwards into the rubble with a thud. Out of his bad he quickly retrieved a small green grenade. Sword in one hand he ran forwards and pulled on the grenade with his teeth, throwing it towards the mass of the zombies.

As the smoke cleared he saw most of the zombies were on the ground, shredded apart but to his at most surprise a few zombies were now crawling and walking towards him. In a panic he held his sword in his other hand his pupils shrinking in fear, he had no choice but to try run although something was holding him back. He lifted his sword in the air once more. Suddenly something grabbed him round the neck and blinded him with an itchy fabric bag. he dropped his sword in surprise, trying to turn but he found he was unable to. He struggled under the grip but he felt himself being hauled round someone's shoulder and taken away before he had time to do anything. He yelled out for help although he knew the only thing who walked the streets were the dead. He was low on air. Helplessly being transported away But suddenly- everything went dark..
