You and I were meant to be
Ain't no doubt about it
No way to hide that sort of thing
Now I'm waiting for something better
Ain't nothing better worth imagining

Disorientated.
That's probably the best word to discribe how I felt.
Shay and I had just gone inside and were still trying to figure out where they needed us when it happened.
The heat came faster than we could have realized.
I remember how I threw my own body to the floor and covered my head with my arms. I couldn't see if Shay did the same thing, all I knew was that a wave of stones, ashes, dust and heat rolled over us.
And then I just felt disorientated. Alone. Scared. Lost.

I, I keep on running
I'm building bridges that I know you never wanted
Look for my heart
You stole it away
Now I'll never sing the road that I could take
Listen, I want you to burn my bridges down
I said, I want you to burn my bridges down
Set me on fire
You set me
Set me on fire
You can burn my bridges down

I pulled my whole strengh together and with a painfull moan I got up. Everything around me was dark, smoking and hot.
My lungs were burning and my eyes teared up, I couldn't see or breath properly.
With the first step I took I tripped over something and fell back down. But all of a sudden, the something moved under me.
It was Shay.

Send this out to sea
Send it where you wanted
You can take your no for no or not at all
There's no filling up your spaces with fictionary places
Imaginary faces they don't work at all

"Shay!!", I screamed, but I couldnt hear my own voice. Shay slowly sat up. She looked around until she found my face.
In the darkness I saw her lips quickly moving, but my ears were still completely deaf.
And then finally, the most important thing came into my mind.
"Casey!", I shouted, not knowing if it was actually a shout or just a desperate whisper. "He's up there!"
I tried to make my way towards the stairs, but Shay grabbed my shoulders and pulled me back in the opposite direction.

I, I keep on running
I'm building bridges that I know you never wanted
Look for my heart
You stole it away
Now I'll never sing the road that I could take
Listen, I want you to burn my bridges down
I said, I want you to burn my bridges down
Set me on fire
You set me
Set me on fire
Girl you burnt my bridges down

We can't help them!
We have to to get out of here!
I wasn't sure if that was what Shay said but she was right. It felt like forever until we reached the door and even longer until we broke through.
Everything that was going on out there, all the panicing people, the shouting cops and fire fighters, all of this didn't get to me at all.
I barely even noticed how my brother Antonio and Detective Erin Lindsay pulled me and Shay out of the dirt and brought us to one of the ambulances. The people around me were speaking, probably trying to calm me down, and I started wonderin if I still couldn't hear them or if I just didn't want to.

I want you to burn my bridges down, down
I want you to burn my bridges down
Set me on fire
You set me
Set me on fire
Set me on fire
I want you to burn my bridges down
I said, I want you to burn my bridges down
Down, down
Set me on fire
Set me on fire

"Casey", I said over and over again as Antonio carried me into the ambulance, "Where's Casey?"
Antonio held onto my wrists and I tried to fight myself free, while fast words came out of his mouth and I was sure he was telling me what I didn't want to hear.
Breath Gabby, okay, breath!
Let's get you to the hospital.
You gonna be fine, I promise!
My offense slowly broke down and as the paramedic pulled an oxygen mask over my face, I finally lost consciousness.
