His face was disfigured, it was dead, you were sure it was dead. Blood was oozing out of the endless wounds and cuts he had in his face. You flinched as this body moved, and it was not because of gravity...
You jolted up, your vision was blurry and your head was aching. Blinking a few times, you could finally see clearly where you were, however, you were unable to recognize it. The walls were painted a sickly pale white, and the lights were so strong you were almost blinded whenever you looked up.
You looked around, trying to find anything familiar in the room, but the only thing you noticed was that you had cables attached to your body. Soon, a short-haired lady entered the room wearing a baby blue gown.
"Good evening Ms. Lee. I'm your nurse, Dr. Park. You blacked out last night and that is why you are here, in case you are confused." She started. "Please let me know if you need anything, are you hungry? Would you like me to turn on the TV?" She asked as you laid back in the bed.
"Could I possibly watch the news? And I'm not that hungry but I could do with a small snack. Thank you." You replied as she nodded, pressing some random buttons in the remote to later place it beside your bed.
"I'll be back with some snacks," She said as she smiled and left the room.
You nodded as you turned all of your attention to the TV, wanting to catch up on what had happened when you were not conscious. Your fingers nervously fidgeted with the edge of the blanket covering you as you listened carefully to what the reporters were saying.
"Last night, at around 10 pm, there were 13 people missing whose bodies were later found with deadly wounds. All these cases of murder seem to point to the same killer" The reporter started. "Police and investigators believe that there has to be a gang or group committing these crimes since they are too complex to be from a single person. No DNA besides from the victims were found in these crime scenes and it is speculated to be more than one person missing that has not been reported yet." She finished.
"Investigators are trying to find common clues to these crimes and are working together to stop them. The only clue they have seemed to find is a card with the initials "AK" on all thirteen of them." The second reporter continued, sending shivers down your spine. "We recommend you to not go out and please keep your doors and windows locked. Stay safe."
A stinging feeling grew on your head, your breathing was racing and your chest felt tight. You knew they were coming for you, you were sure they were. Your thoughts were interrupted when the nurse opened the door yet again.
"I brought you some dried sweet potatoes and a glass of water. Once you are done, the doctor will come and do a last check-up to see if you are good to go" She replied as she handed you the food tray.
You thanked her as you downed the glass of water at once, trying to calm down your racing nerves. You turned off the TV, not wanting to hear any more of it. The doctor had already arrived once you had finished eating your sweet potatoes, doing the quick check-up just how the nurse had told you. He wrote a few things on a notepad and let you go.
You sighed as you finally exited the hospital. Fear tickling every single part of your body, wondering what was to come. You quickened your pace to reach your house faster, feeling very unsafe out in the streets.
You gulped, feeling like you were being observed from everywhere. Like eyes pierced your skin. At this point, you didn't even know if it was the paranoia of the situation or if anyone was actually following you.
Tears formed in the corner of your eyes, you felt unsafe and you were alone. You took a deep breath as you put the hood of your sweater over your head, hoping it could make you feel at least a little safer. You ran towards your apartment, hoping to finally stop feeling so followed.
You burst the door open, closing it just right after you entered. Your back was leaned on the door as the tears that had been stored in your eyes rolled down your cheeks. Your body was shaken and your legs were giving up on you, sliding your body to rest down on the floor.
You had never felt so scared, it was all very new for you. Your weak shaking hands reached for the doorknob above your head as you tried to lock it. You tried taking deep breaths to steady yourself. Once you had composed yourself, you searched for your brother around the house, hoping to find him somewhere and engulf yourself in his comforting arms.
"Tyong?" You weakly called as you entered the kitchen, he was not there.
You walked around the house, looking around for him but he didn't seem to be around.
"Taeyong?" You yelled a little bit louder, but he was not there. Not in the bathroom, not in his room, not in your room, not in the living room nor the kitchen. You had literally gone through every single room in your apartment but he was not there.
You dialed his number, hoping that he would answer and tell you that he is alright, that he probably went to the store and was just on his way back.
However, he did not answer. And it was not usual for him to not answer, especially when it came to you. He always told you whenever he wouldn't be able to answer, but he did not even leave a single text.
A/N: Hi! sorry for the wait, I was kinda discouraged to continue this story but I'm back, kinda.
QOTD: what do you think happened to Taeyong?
