Your eyes scanned the book in front of you, but not really paying attention to whatever the words read. Your eyes lingered for a while in the same word, until they finally looked up to the TV which had taken all your attention now. Your brother, Taeyong, was watching the news and you couldn't help but listen to what the reporters were saying.
"Also, we advise you to please stay safe and prevent going out at night. We have been informed about a possible criminal or even mafia on the streets. There have been four mysterious disappearances as well as three confirmed murders last night in the bar at 127 street. Police are still investigating the case, and it is suspected that the same person or gang performed all these crimes..." The reporter informed as you raised your eyebrows in confusion.
"The case is pretty harsh..." You mumbled.
"Yeah, it is. Take care okay?" Taeyong swiftly replied as he ruffled your hair.
"I know, I'm not a baby... geez." You huffed in annoyance, brushing your hair back in place with your fingers.
"I think I should get going. I'll see you after classes." You said as you headed for the door.
"You're not going to say goodbye to your big bro?" He dramatically gasped, a hand clutched on his chest as a slight pout adorned his lips.
"I sometimes can't believe you're older than me." You giggled while running towards him and engulfing him in a hug.
"Have a good day at college today. And don't forget to eat." He said as he planted a soft kiss into your hair.
You smiled and nodded, finally leaving the apartment. You loved him, a lot. He was the only thing you had ever since your parents died in a car accident when you were only fourteen. Damn, it was hard getting through it, but you did, and it was all thanks to him. You didn't want to lose him, ever.
You managed to reach the building, your fingers tugging the hem of your shirt anxiously. Walking to your locker, you brushed past Areum, a smirk sewn on her face. You had to hold yourself back from slapping her, biting the inside of your cheek. You knew you couldn't do anything.
You walked away, not wanting to deal with any more bullshit. Anaika was already waiting for you at your locker, checking her phone every now and then. You smiled as you approached her. She stuffed her phone inside her pocket and returned the smile.
"Hey Y/N, did you see the news today?" She worriedly asked as you nodded.
"Yeah, I did. It's kinda scary, to be honest." You replied as she shrugged.
"Yeah... Anyway, what's your first period? I have biology and I need to get my books so I think I better get going." She said as you nodded.
"Sure, I have music right now, so I guess we'll see each other at maths?" You questioned and she nodded.
"Sure, I'll catch up on you later!" She said before she walked out of sight.
You sighed, music used to be your favorite class. You usually hung out with Jaehyun at music class. You remembered how you played the guitar, while he sang a few incoherent words over it. His deep calming voice never failed to make goosebumps appear on your skin,
You entered the music room, biting your lip anxiously. You looked around the room but there was no sign of Jaehyun. Maybe he was late? You sighed, you knew you shouldn't be paying too much attention to what he did but you just couldn't help but feel sad.
Class ended and there was still no sign of him. You wondered what could've happened. He had never skipped school, and you were worried something might've had happened. You met with Anaika later at maths class, and the day went on normal... Until later.
You found a small note pasted on Jaehyun's locker that was just beside yours. You knew it wasn't right to look, but you felt curious as to who was putting a note on his locked when he clearly hadn't attended. You bit the inside of your cheek, debating whether or not to read it, but you thought it might have been something important and decided to tell him about it the next day.
"Meet me at Itaewon's bar alley at 11 pm, you must come, and it better not be late."
You were curious as to what he was supposed to do there, and why it was so important. Curiosity got the best of you as you decided to head there and at least see why it was so important, or what he had to do that late at night. You hurriedly made your way back home, where Taeyong was waiting for you.
"Hi Y/N, how was school?" He asked as you went to your room.
"Stressing, like always." You hurriedly said, stuffing a piece of bread in your mouth as you threw yourself onto the bed.
"I watched the news today afternoon, the situation earlier is apparently getting worse, please be careful okay?" He said as he sat down beside you.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be careful" You mumbled as he smiled and left.
You had been anxiously waiting for the sun to set and the stars to adorn the dark sky. You couldn't even finish your homework, something inside you told you it was bad, but some other part inside you wanted to investigate. Biting your lip, you looked at the hour in your clock for the last time of the day.
You slipped a jacket over your shoulders and wore your old sneakers. The bar wasn't that far from your house, so you could get there in less than ten minutes.
"Yong, I'm leaving, I'll be back soon. Bye!" That was all you said.
"But Y/N, it's dangerous!" He said, but you were already on your way to the alley.
You hid behind the wall of the cramped alley, it smelled like rotten, you wondered why Jaehyun was going to meet someone there. You took a small quick peek inside the alley but you quickly covered your mouth to prevent making any noise.
There were Anaika and Hyunjin laying unconscious on the floor. The only other person you could spot was someone you didn't even recognize since they had a mask covering their head.
A/N: Sorry for the late update, writer block :P
QOTD: Who do you think is the masked person? 😏
