"No!" Sabre yelled "everyone, focus fire on the chieftain."
None of them winked their lights, there was no time. The chieftain walked over to Tucker laying on the ground. He spun his hammer around so a blade was showing. He was seconds away from dealing the final blow.Tucker was as good as dead.
Frost came in out of nowhere, tackling the chieftain to the ground. Doc slid down next to Tucker with his shotgun at the ready.
"Get him back on his feet," Frost said "we'll cover you."
Doc winked his light, and checked Tucker. He had a few broken ribs, nothing too serious. But he needed to wake him up, he was the only one that could find his way around here without assistance from a map, and possibly the only one that could stop the chieftain. Doc started with CPR, it brought him back for a second. He then used an adrenaline shot.
That worked. Tucker came back in a split second.
"What happened?" Tucker asked, and then saw the chieftain fighting the rest of them. "Never mind, where's my sword?"
"Here," Doc said handing him a knife. "Junior has your sword fighting brutes, go take that chieftain down."
Tucker nodded, and stood up. He didn't show one bit of pain. While he was walking toward the brute, Tucker looked at his data pad and tapped it. Seconds later he was gone, invisible.
"Come on," Sabre said "you over grown monkey, come get some." He shot at the brute with the assault rifle.
The chieftain then randomly spun around. All of them were confused, why was he exposing his back to them. The answer was clear a moment later.
Tucker appeared on his back. Knife in his hand. He plunged it into the brutes neck like it was butter. The chieftain let out a howl and fell to the ground. The remaining brutes were enraged. Tucker then picked up the chieftain's hammer, it was what he always wanted. The brutes started to run towards him and him only.
"Wrong decision," Tucker said with a chuckle.
He hit the first brute that came him. He hit it like a baseball, with little effort. He went from being a Spartan, to Thor. He obliterated the remaining brutes with ease. Like they were bugs.
"Nice job, Doc," Clementine said.
"It was easy," Doc said "not to show off or anything, but it was no problem."
Chy patted Doc on the back. "Proud of you, Doc."
"Thanks, Chy," Doc said.
"Now," Frost said "should we get moving again?"
"Yeah," Doc said "let's get to another camp so I can fix Tucker's ribs."
"Well," Tucker said "today's your lucky day."
"Why's that," Sabre said.
"My next camp," Tucker started but stopped to hold his chest. "Is in a hospital."
"Let's get you there then," Chy said "Clementine and I will help you walk."
"Frost and I will take point." Sabre said "you tell us where to go."
"Let's move," Noob said.
Clementine and Chy helped support Tucker as the left the courtyard. They made it 4 blocks down the street until they made it to the next camp, New Mombasa's Public Hospital. A voice came over the public radio and said that the final evacuation shuttle had left, there wouldn't be another shuttle until the next morning. But it didn't matter, they wanted to make sure Tucker was OK. They moved in the hospital and prepped Tucker for surgery. The bright side is that Doc didn't have to do anything. The hospital still had power, so all the machines that used to perform surgery on someone were still functioning. They got Tucker all cleaned up and put him on the operating table. The machines started to get everything into place within him, they fixed the ribs that had broken. They even reinflated one of his lungs that had collapsed and it looked like he would be fine after the surgery. They all waited in the Waiting Room while it was taking place.
"He's gonna be alright," Doc said "he'll be in surgery for a little bit longer."
"Thanks, Doc." Clementine said.
"Hey guys, look what I found," Noob said.
They all looked at him. He was holding a battle rifle.
"Hey pull off some sweet quick scopes," Sabre said.
Chy smacked him in the head not once, but twice.
"What," Sabre said "I can't joke around?"
"Not right now," Chy said "not when our lives are in the room next to us hanging on by a thread."
Everyone was silent. Then a sound came from the hallway outside leading into the waiting room. A creature came into the room.
It wasn't human.
