Mila found herself at the Division building within thirty minutes, keeping an eye on her phone just in case Hunter called or texted again. He had sent her another message on the bus letting her know to take the elevators up to the fourteenth floor this time.
She didn't bother going to the front desk first, she just went straight to the elevators. Security guards were stationed all around the building, making her slightly nervous since they weren't there the last time she visited.
When the elevators slid open at her floor, she quickly stepped out and noticed that she was in a hallway leading to a set of doors behind a check-in desk. She walked up to it, giving the officer working a timid smile.
"Hello," she said, getting his attention. "I'm here to see Medical Officer Hunter Dawson."
He eyed her suspiciously. "Name?"
"Mila," she said, before shaking her head. "Wait, sorry, it's Camila. Camila Morales."
His eyes went to something on his desk and he pulled out what looked like a sticky note. Reading it over, he then crumpled it and threw it out before nodding at her.
"Go ahead," he said, pressing a button.
Immediately, the doors behind him unlocked. Mila could see the keypad blink green, and she realized that the same one was on the twelfth floor where Hunter and Jason worked. Only employees probably had the code so they didn't have to check-in at the desk every time, they could just walk right through.
Pulling open the door, she saw that she was in a large room. In front of her, the first thing she noticed were the glass windows looking into the largest gym she had ever seen. Her eyes widened when she realized that there were people inside.
Some were using the exercise machines on one side, others were practicing their kinetic abilities with targets, and some were doing hand to hand combat on mats. She was blow away by the sheer size of the room. This must be where Division officers worked out and trained.
Mila walked up the windows, her eyes going over everyone in fascination, especially to the people using their powers. She saw one woman controlling bubbles of water all around her as she did some yoga poses with a group of other kinetics also using the same ability. A man across the room was running on a treadmill so fast, he almost looked like a blur.
Then, across the room, she suddenly spotted a familiar face. Immediately walking around, she kept close to the windows as she walked closer to where Hunter and Jason were standing.
She stopped at the glass panel closest to them, nearest to the doors which had a sign saying they were the north exit of the gym.
They were both wearing workout clothes, and Mila watched in fascination as Jason ran at Hunter and tried to tackle him, but at the last second Hunter caught his arm and turned around, flipping him over his shoulder so he landed on his back harshly on the mat.
Jason didn't let him get away with that though, because while Hunter was still holding onto him she could see him suddenly curse and jump back as a pulse of electricity travelled through Jason's arm to his.
Hunter shook his hand to get rid of the painful sensation as Jason jumped to hit feet with a triumphant smirk. Within seconds, they were back at it again.
Watching them fight was almost like watching a dance. Their movements were so perfectly executed and they both moved with ease, occasionally using their powers.
