Note to self: Don't stay out at night when you're a Runner.

She almost didn't get up when Minho shook her.

"Shuckface, c'mon. You've got work to do today. I haven't seen a map in two weeks."

Oh, shuck. She forgot the maps!

She stretched an eye open,"I've been experimenting?"

"Not a good enough excuse, let's go."

"Fine."

She was kind of shocked that she fell asleep at all, that tree was not comfortable.

But she got to the Doors before they opened, and that was a plus.

One of the other Runners walked over and clapped her shoulder,"Out too late last night?"

She punched his nose, sending him tumbling into Minho.

Minho turned to her,"You do this?"

She nodded.

The boy shoved the random Runner,"Sissy, fight back!"

Minho was a good encourager.

The boy she punched flew at her, head first.

Idiot, she thought.

She put her hands out, and grabbed the kid's shoulders.

He ran, his feet stuck in the dirt, so he didn't move.

Nope, instead, he fell facefirst on the ground.

The other Runners cheered and whooped and hollered, but she didn't acknowledge the praise.

She looked down at the kid,"You just got beat, by a girl."

Then she was the first one in the Maze, smirking at the beat down he got from Minho.

~

The Maze wasn't that exciting, when she started the day.

But wow, that Griever snapped her out of her drowsiness quick.

Her ankle still hurt like hell, and running didn't help.

So once she was alone in Section Four, her Section, she walked around.

It didn't take long for the lack of sleep to get to her.

She figured she'd be fine, the monsters didn't normally come out in the day anyway.

But apparantly this day was special.

Just as she sat down to start lunch, she heard it.

First she thought it was another Runner messing with her.

Then the whirring started.

And she saw the reflection of the metal.

She didn't even save her sandwich.

She picked up her backpack, and ran.

She'd memorized the route to get back to the Glade, and was shocked when she ran into someone.

She collided with the boy, and they tumbled to the ground.

Quickly, she disentangled herself, and slid backwards.

She was shocked to see it wasn't Minho.

It was Gally.
