Cooper came back later with a guy and a girl.

The girl had curly blonde hair that loosely fell on her shoulders. Accompanying the hair, were a startling pair of sky blue eyes. The girl looked like she popped fresh out of Tennessee and landed here. Jamie could tell automatically that she was hyper, just like Cooper.

The new guy had dark brown hair, shorter than Cooper's but the same style. His eyes were magnificently grey, like really dark grey. Other than the color, he really did look friendly, not evil. He even smiled at Jamie when they were introduced.

"Jamie, that guy is Sam, and the blondie is Jessie."

"Hey, guys."

Internally, she slapped herself, Idiot! Jamie, you're a first class idiot!

Sam and Jessie didn't seem to notice. They grabbed stools and sat in front of the bed, where Cooper and Jamie sat knee to knee, criss cross apple sauce.

"So, Jamester," Sam smirked,"How long've you been here?"

"Dunno, 'bout a week or two? I can't remember."

Jessie smiled,"We've been through that, hun. Sam, Cooper, the whole lot of us 'test subjects'. It's funny, too. When Sam got here and saw the guns, he shit his pants."

The boy scowled,"Did not!"

"Did too!" Cooper yelled,"I had to clean that shit up! Nasty, bro!"

There wasn't one person not laughing.

Jamie was scared that they'd get in trouble, but they didn't.

They spent the next hour talking about how they thought they ended up at the Test Subject Unit.

Jamie noticed their numbers.

Sam was Subject 4, Jessie was Subject 6.

Jamie knew what happened to Subjects 2, 3, 5, and 7.

Cooper told her.

Let's just say that they didn't live happily ever after, and the guards weren't scared to use their guns.

She didn't know how long they talked, and she could've sworn she blinked, not slept.

It was plausible, though. She hadn't slept since she got here, but she felt somewhat safer with Sam, Jessie, and Cooper than she did by herself.

She knew these guys wouldn't let anything happen to her, ever.

Heck, they were so friendly, Cooper didn't complain that she fell asleep on him.

Would fake friends do that?

She lifted her head up from his lap, and rubbed her eyes,"Hey, Coop."

He glanced at her,"Hey."

She felt the thump of her head against the wall as she put it there,"You didn't sleep, too?"

Sam and Jessie were out, so she wondered why Cooper wasn't.

"It's too early. You've only been out for an hour, a damn uncomfortable hour, too. You kicked and punched 'till I made you stay still. Then you whimpered like a freakin puppy. I wanted to hug you, ya sad little bug. The sight scared Sam, and that shit don't happen a lot, that guy's freaking titanium. So, yeah. I didn't sleep. Scared I'd catch your bad dreams."

She didn't know whether to frown or smile. She did, however, like the idea of a Cooper hug. That sounded fun.

She heard a yawn, and knew it wasn't her,"Coops, there's a pillow right next to you."

"I don't want you to launch back into those freaking nightmares again. I'm fine."

"Yeah? I'm fine too. And I've slept. Your turn."

Cooper smiled,"Fine, but I'm using you as a pillow, revenge."

Sure, that's what it was.

She shrugged, and got herself into a comfy enough position, then let Cooper put the pillow down, and pull the blanket on himself.

"Pretty eventful day, huh?" He muttered.

"Guess so, if that's what you're callin it."

She could feel his smirk.

"Night, Newbie."

"Night, Cooper."
